BuzzH has been gone an awfully long time. I'm not quite sure what action to take to remedy the situation.

Actually, she was last here on February 28th at 10:16:04 am ET / 7:16:04 am PT - it's simply that she hasn't been posting lately - and that's certainly her call. :) Perhaps she's been too busy to post, or she just hasn't had anything to contribute to the current discussions...

I hope Buzz returns soon. Though I'm relatively new here, didn't start posting til January, I see Buzz's posts all over the forum. She is definitely missed right now.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has felt Buzz's absence. I too hope she returns soon, but as MB says it's her call. However I would like to add:

I probably shouldn't speak for Magnus, but it seems that, with the possible exception of that one remark, his many requests for you to return to posting have been heartfelt because he misses you around here (most probably because the two of you appeared to be quite friendly). However, Magnus also has a wickedly sarcastic and teasing sense of humor - and in fact, you've even commented that his brand of humor is one of the things you've liked about him. I don't believe he meant to hurt your feelings in any way. It would seem he simply misses the bantering you two did.

I would also welcome you back. I do like your comments and they make me laugh and make my day. Sometimes that is what I really need. Life can be a challange. I hope that I have not said anything in the past that has upset you. Take Care. :)

Hey, Buzz, I, too, have missed your comments. When I first came on the board, your knowledge and humor was one of the things that made me decide to stay.I'd sure hate to lose your input, and it looks like others here agree with that, too. Hope to have you back soon!

Comments of mine have caused people to leave, or to resent me? Or what? This is a total and complete surprise, if so, and someone should have told me. I always try to be decent and respectful to people. And I was expressing frustration that Buzz wasn't posting more. She did just say something short and pragmatic recently, then went away again. In other words, I felt deprived of your wit, and great posts, Buzz, and if there's a negative way to read what I posted, then someone will have to explain it to me very slowly and carefully. The point of this thread was to make Buzz feel needed here. I like having you around. That is absolutely all I was saying.
If it was the word "boring"... sorry, I was being spontaneous, and just meant you conveyed some little bit of information to someone, and that's all. I'd have used a different word, another day. I just meant, we're not getting enough of you.

I took what Magnus wrote to be teasing though I know I have said something teasingly and it didn't come across that way, even recently.

I've been very open about my having left a different DS forum~~and the festivals~~because of abusive behavior by some other fans.
But DS Boards is a safe space.
Midnite, MB, & Dom go out of their way to create a loving, respectful environment for all.
DS Boards is a place where fans of different races, religions, and sexual orientations can be open about who they are & be supported for it.
I don't think Magnus Trask meant any harm with his words.

Actually, a check of the stats will show that activity is pretty normal. If anything, readership has gone up. :)
There was an upswing in posting activity in January and February - but that was more or less out of the norm - and, honestly, the mods are relieved that things have calmed down and gotten back to normal since then. While in a way it was nice to see so many posts, an average of over 120 a day (with some days reaching well over 200 posts! :o) is harder to keep up with than some might realize - especially when each one has to be read and a goodly amount often have to be edited/repaired. ;) (We were just lucky that, unlike in 2002, we now have a host that doesn't shut us down when there's too much activity. ::))

I remember noticing it less than a week afterwards and knowing that I wasn't been logged in at that time, and I didn't think there was any particularly riveting topic going on, so it will remain a mystery to me until we get a new Most Online Ever stat.

That was just a weird moment in time when, for whatever strange reason, 74 people just happened to visit the forum at the same time. And quite honestly, I don´t place much stock in the Most Online stat because the only thing it measures is pure happenstance. For example, say no more than 5 people might happen to be on the forum at any one time on a given day. Well, that doesn´t in any way mean that more total people couldn´t be visiting the forum on that day than on a day when the most on at any one time might reach, say, 30. All a Most Online stat of 30 means is that 30 people just happened to all show up at the same time. I don honestly know why the YaBB/SMF developers even came up with that stat except that perhaps they love to show off how they can count things because, in the grander scheme of things, it can basically be almost meaningless. :-
About the only interesting thing about that current Most Online stat is that on the West Coast it took place in ´07 at 07:07:07pm. It´s just too bad that something like it didn´t wait to happen until July with 77 people on at the same time or on the 7th with 70-something people on at the same time because that would be a supposedly magical seven sevens. ;) But who knows, maybe it will happen in July in some time zone. :D

Actually, you may have been. Using Pacific Coast Time (cuz that's where I am, and also where, as MB pointed out, the stat looks coolest 8)), the MOE stat was recorded on May 07, 2007, 07:07:07 pm, and according to your profile, you submitted a post to the Current Talk board on: May 07, 2007, 06:53:17 pm.

i was just thinking that i can't even remember when DS left the air the last time and
there still is a lot of posting and interest here. i looked at when i signed up on these
boards and can't believe it is five years(not counting our former boards) wow not too
many of my hobbies have held my interest that long it is a great site and has brought comfort to me
many times :)

Sadly, I haven't seen Ringo anywhere online in years and I really wonder what he's been up to. But Midnite and I have spent time with Henry at two recent Fests. He says he peeks in here from time to time as a guest, but that he needs DS to be running on some station to post.

last night, my IP screwed up & banned me from the forum!!
The mods had nothing to do with this.
Midnite & MB responded at once to my email, expressed concern, & fixed the problem.
They're good folks, and this is a good board.
And they put up with all my raunchy gay jokes, too!
