The thing is, though, as I mentioned before, of those 500,000 that might have dropped off from week one to week 2, how many were regained once the 7 day DVR ratings were factored in. And who knows how many of the 300,000 that dropped off from week 3 to week 4 could be regained with the 7 day DVR ratings. I know I rarely watch anything live anymore, so if I was a Nielson family, no show would be registering viewership from me - but I do DVR dozens of shows and I do watch them within 7 days of their original airings. And most of my friends follow the same practice. So these days the live ratings are only a fraction of how well a show may or may not be doing and any discussion of a show's ratings that doesn't include its 7 day DVR ratings isn't presenting the whole picture. That being said, though, if the 7 day DVR ratings are also falling, that definitely wouldn't bode well for show...
