I saw The Comedian, largely because it showed up as a freebie on YouTube. It was okay, just okay. It's very well acted but the material is too thin for an hour long show.  The lead character isn't overly sympathetic or engaging, so the twist ending doesn't pack the wallop that it should. I'm glad that I saw it but I don't expect that I'll be going back for a second visit

I haven't watched it so I don't have an opinion yet. But it's interesting how audience seem to really it or think it's just meh. And that goes for even the same magazine because when Entertainment Weekly reviewed the series, the reaction was meh - but when a different person reviewed the first ep, they gave it a B+. And for what it's worth, readers of tvline.com have currently given the first ep:

A (awesome)    32.82%
C (It was OK)  24.43%
