From "#0267/0268: Robservations 12/03/01: Will Liz Take a Dive?"

Drawing room - Liz waits for Carolyn, who defiantly comes in and says she's been out with Buzz. While Carolyn thumbs through a magazine, Liz explains to her that she's her mother's whole life, and she has never stopped loving Carolyn. Carolyn would like to believe her, but knows Jason is the cause of their problems, and can't comprehend why Liz is marrying him.

The Robservations falls in the period where there's little detail and the quote isn't referenced. However, after the subject of Liz' impending marriage to Jason comes up, Liz says that she'd rather not talk about the wedding, though Carolyn pushes things by delivering the quote while she's thumbing through the magazine. But Liz replies that it's Carolyn who is in her thoughts...

And Ep #268 joins Eps #162 & #92 as the third example this month of Midnite serendipitously happening upon an ep that hadn't been quoted from before.

Barnabas enters the mausoleum and is startled when Sarah pops up and joyfully calls him. He tries to keep his back to her as she begs her big brother to take her home; she's so tired! He tries to tell her he can't, and she can't tell anyone she saw him, but when he turns and she sees his bloody mouth, she cries, "You aren't Barnabas!" and runs from him. "Oh no," moans Barnabas, realizing dawn is upon him.

The Robservations doesn't reference the quote, however, it comes up after Sarah tells Barnabas she fell asleep and before she asks him to take her home and says that she's so sleepy...

And this is the third quote from this ep. The first (Millicent - 'Oh, no, no, you MUSTN'T') was back on February 4th, and the second (Barnabas - 'Oh, you MUSTN'T tell anyone') was back on March 24th.

she encourages him to sit and eat. No, he says, then recites, "The widest land.  Doom takes two." He shows her a book he was reading, and she glances at it. She reads, "The widest land, doom takes to part us, leaves thy heart and mine with pulses that beat double." It's a romantic poem, for sure, and she reads more as Adam listens intently, love in his eyes.

She asks if he read this and is astonished how far he's come from reading simple sentences. Alone, he reads, he says, and she expresses pride in his accomplishment. He is very happy to have made her proud and giggles, embarrassed. He asks what the words mean, and she says it's a poem, a love sonnet. Adam repeats "Love sonnet," and asks what it means. She says it's written by a woman telling a man how much she loves him. "Woman loves man?" asks Adam. Yes, says Carolyn, looking uncomfortable. She slaps the book closed and says, "Class is dismissed." She urges him to eat, and he touches her shoulder and turns her to face him. He touches her hair, gazes at her longingly, says her name. She's unnerved and tells him not to do that.

Joe doesn't want the cops involved; it didn't help when Liz called them. That animal is on the loose, says Julia, and might attack someone else--tonight. I stabbed him with a scissors, says Joe, and while I don't think I killed him. . . Julia thinks they should call the sheriff.

Come in! calls Angelique.  When Maggie enters, Angelique is holding the lavender gown against herself, asking Hoffman--do you think I should wear this one?--do you think the color suits me?--what do you think, Maggie?  I think it's very pretty, says Maggie.  Then I'll wear it, says Ang, handing it to Hoffman. You have so many dresses here, observes Maggie. Have you chosen one yet? asks Angelique. Not yet, says Maggie. Please help yourself, there are some beautiful things, encourages Angelique. Hoffman smiles--may I be excused?--I have things to attend to downstairs. Yes, and thanks so much, says Ang.

After Hoffman leaves, Angelique tells Maggie, Hoffman really is invaluable--she ironed everything in the trunk, so you can wear what you like. I don't really care that much, says Maggie. But you must, protests Angelique, you'll be meeting some of these people for the very first time tonight. I think I'd rather wear my own clothes, says Maggie. Darling, you can't, it's always been a costume party, Ang reminds her. Yes, I know, says Maggie with irony. Ang hands Maggie an orange gown--how do you like this? she asks. Maggie holds it against herself and looks in the mirror.  It's all wrong, insists Ang.  Do you think so?--I think it's rather pretty, comments Maggie. I'll find something better, says Ang. Were you ever in the states after Quentin married Angelique? asks Maggie. Of course, says Ang.  Did you ever attend one of these parties? Maggie asks. No, says "Alexis"--Angelique would never have asked me. Why not? asks Maggie. Actually, says Ang, we didn't get on, and she didn't like having other women around, especially one that looked exactly like her. Because this is within the period where the Robservations have little detail, the quote isn't referenced at all. However, after Liz sits down on the rock, Vicki pleads with Liz to come back to the house, but Liz insists she can't ever go back because there's nothing left for her. Liz then insists that she has to go through with it. Vicki protests that she doesn't, and after that is when Vicki delivers the quote...

Carolyn is tempted to turn him over to the cops, but he reminds her what he knows, that the police are looking for Adam. He could pick up a nice piece of change-unless she makes it worth his while.

Blackmail? She asks. An ugly word, says Harry, preferring to call it an exchange of favors. He asks for five grand to keep her secret, and she says she'll give him exactly. . .nothing. They dicker. She knows about his record, so she can send him back to prison-if she wants to. Harry knows she's got him by the short hairs, and asks what happens now. She needs help with Adam, and Harry will bring him food and help keep her secret.
