For some unknown reason, the Robservations changes the "you're not" part of the quote to "you aren't," but it gets the rest perfectly...

And this is the fourth quote from this ep. The first (Sebastian - 'I'm not your husband, Mrs. Hawkes. You MUST have loved him very much to think that I was') was back on July 20th of 2020, the second (Hallie - 'I MUSTN'T be afraid, I MUSTN'T!') was back on June 12th of 2021, and the third (Barnabas - 'Carolyn, we MUST make him finish that horoscope') was back on July 20th. I also noticed how Sebastian suddenly from out of nowhere gets a faraway look (though, honestly, it's impossible to miss), as seen in the screen capture -

- and what's odd about it is there doesn't ever seem to be an explanation for why. Maybe it was just another reason for Henry Kaplan to do another of his intense close-ups.    Who knows?

Where? she asks, looking. Can't you see anything? he asks--I put it right here...he looks, but the pen is not there--I'm sure that's right where I put it! You must be mistaken, she says. But I know I put it right there, he says, pointing to the spot--I think I did. Nobody would just walk in here and take it, she says, so it must be right here--help me look for it. They begin to search.

Liz asks Vicki to be a legal witness to her marriage to Jason. Tell Carolyn the truth, urges Vicki, but Liz won't consider it.

Vicki promises Liz she'll think about it.

The Robservations falls into the period where there's little detail and the quote isn't referenced. At least it does basically reference the circumstances under which it's delivered...

And as with Eps #82 and #83 earlier this month, Ep #262 is another example where Midnite serendipitously happened upon an ep that hadn't been quoted from before.

Also, Ep #262 is significant, some may even say infamous, for the fact that it's the ep in which Anthony George takes over as Burke

The Robservations doesn't reference the quote, though at least it does reference the circumstances under which the quote is delivered (though it's delivered before Angelique is at Barnabas' bedside and helps him to drink)...

Back at Collinwood, Nicholas brings Angelique's portrait into the drawing room and props it up on a chair. He begins to address the portrait, commanding Angelique's spirit to guide him to the tree in the forest where she was tied, so that he can bring her ashes back to life. We hear Angelique screaming in the distance, and Nicholas increases the intensity of his incantation.

The Robservations reference the main points of the quote but not the quote itself...

Even back in the day, the things I've found interesting about Nicholas incantation is how he refers to Angelique having been burned and how he must find her ashes. But when Trask's Ghost exorcised her in Ep #519 Cassandra simply disappeared, no fire or burning on view. Although, as part of his incantation Trask's Ghost says, "Depart from her, ye cursed demons, into the everlasting fire which burns all evil and leaves only the ashes of what good she once possessed." Perhaps Sam Hall envisioned that the scene would show Cassandra being burned at the end of the exorcism but John Sedwick, who directed Ep #519, didn't stage it that way, and when Ron Sproat wrote Ep #525, he picked up on what Sam Hall had written. But who knows? Though one thing that's in all likelihood true is that Ron Sproat would have had no idea how Ep #519 would be shot when he wrote Ep #525.

And this is the second quote from this ep. The first (Jeff - 'I know it MUST NOT make much sense to ya') was back on August 17th.

Beth is puzzled--how did Dirk leave the room?--I'm frightened.  Barnabas says--there's no time for that.  You know what happened to Dirk? asks Beth.  Barnabas responds, I didn't expect him to die so soon. He's dead, states Beth.  Yes, says Barn, that's what I've sentenced him to--there much to be done tonight; Dirk's dying is part of my plan, but I needed to know his movements and where he slept, so that when the day came and the vampire had to be found, you could lead them to Dirk.  How can we find him? she asks.  Barn explains, when Dirk's first need is satisfied, he'll know the fear of the day, the terrible sense that darkness is disappearing and light showing--he'll look for a secret, dark womb that will keep him safe--and we must find that place.

HOW? asks Beth, there's so many possible hiding places!

The Robservations references the quote almost perfectly...

And this is the third quote from this ep. The first (Carl - 'Oh, she MUST have ate it. I gave you the wrong one. Well, you know how women eat when they're nervous') was back on October 28th of 2020, and the second (Judith - 'We simply MUST find Dirk and hear exactly what he told Jamison') was back on June 29th of 2023.

And I know I've mentioned this before, but I still can't believe that back when this ep was shown in '80s syndication, and despite the fact that Worldvision was told the ep was out of sequence, they continued to place it between Eps #511 & #512. One minute it's 1968 and Trask's ghost has Barnabas prisoner in the alcove in the basement of the Old House, the next it's 1897 and Barnabas and Beth are fretting over Dirk and Carl is announcing his engagement to Pansy, then it's back to 1968 and Trask continues his revenge against Barnabas. At least Worldvision corrected things for the Sci-Fi showings - though they managed to screw up the order of some Leviathans eps that had played in their correct order in syndication - but that's anther story...

Dr. Reed says it is, answers Liz--we must accept his judgment. I wish Julia was still treating him, says Carolyn.  You know why she isn't, says Liz. I want to speak to Paul, convince him that his fear of Julia is unfounded, says Carolyn. I'm going to the Historical Society meeting, says Liz, bringing some old pieces of silver--you should be taking interest in it, too. I'm interested in my father now, she says curtly--it kills me to walk into his room and see him unable to move or speak--he's almost not human anymore. Liz (who today is wearing a gold serpent pin), assures her daughter, everything that can be done is being done--and she leaves with her silver tea service.

The Robservations doesn't reference the first part of the quote, which is the "MUST" part, shameful!! But it doesn't reference the second part well...

   That's a really good question? You also have to wonder what first inspired someone to make a snake/serpent pin? But then, that having been said, snake/serpent bracelets have existed for at least 2000 years with various symbolism, like bringing good luck, protection, and warding off evil spirits. They're even believed to have healing powers. So... But none of that has any bearing on why Liz is wearing the pin.
