Anthony George got some good material in the early 1960s series CHECKMATE, which also starred Sebastian Cabot (ever a joy) and a handsome, very young Doug McClure.  I do not know if it ever airs on any of these vintage channels.  The distinguishing feature of this show was its array of big name guest stars--even Charles Laughton appeared in an episode.

It's worth checking out.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Checkmate has been on any of the retro channels. I've never seen it. Though I do recall reading that it was a very successful show when it was on back in the early '60s. It even merited at least one cover of TV Guide. I found this one online:

But I could swear I've also seen a different one...

There is at least one other one. And I would have known that if I'd bothered to scroll further down that same page before I'd posted.  [easter_wink]

There are several episodes available on YouTube, including one with Jack Lord and Elizabeth Montgomery. And Google images shows 2 other TV Guide covers. One has the full cast. The other just has Sebastian Cabot and Anthony George.

That's the one I was thinking of.  [easter_smiley]
