Thanks for the review of "The House" screening, Michael.  Maybe it will be included on MPI's next DS quidnunc.  It would be NEW material...

As for McKechnie, par for the course.  But there could have been something occurring behind the scenes that led her not to want to be there.

i don't really care about McKechnie one way or the other. Amanda Harris isn't exactly a favorite of mine...

it's just funny she cancelled due to a "work commitment" and then very publicly went on social media, during the festival, and announced she was attending a ballet in New York.  [ghost_rolleyes]

Interesting.  Either she was deliberately making a statement, or she just didn't think--or didn't care.

I am "friended" to Lara Parker's personal page on the FaceBeast ("you BEAST! you BEAST!"), which is how I've been seeing a lot of photos from the Festival since they tag her on them.  I'm not really interested in being friended to various peripheral actors at this point.  My postings here are one of the very few involvements in DS fandom I have maintained.  I have too many other demands on my time for anything beyond this.

the rest of the cast gamely forged on...

i wasn't there that long but apparently Roger Davis even managed to maintain his composure this year. and in McKenchie's absence the DS "readhead contingent" was proudly held up by Marie and Donna Wandrey.

on the merchandising front the lunchbox was cute. although i'm weary of the bobblehead trinity (Barnabas/Angelique/Quentin) being the only faces of the "brand". carrying around a Liz/Julia/Vicki lunchbox would be fun but i guess they're not "monsters". still MPI apparently blew through 200 of them by early Saturday. i was lucky to grab one of the last available.

A roughly 8 minute "in remembrance" slideshow that was shown, with some very rare photos of some of the cast, crew, writers etc.--several I had never seen before:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6j3t9nUd_U

The only one I didn't know as John Devoe, if I'm even recalling his name properly.

Fans applaud for each photo.  The applause and shouts, cheers, etc. for some are really rather.... I got verklaempt!

It was very nice.

On the Decades Channel website there is an audio interview from the Dick Cavette Show with Jonathan Frid.

Karlen was in very good spirits and stayed signing autographs until after eleven o'clock on Friday night, well after the others had retired for the evening. His problems seem to be under control. He was in a wheelchair and was accompanied by a health aide.
Donna McKechnie was a last minute cancellation. She had gotten a job elsewhere.

I am watching the question/answer session. I was so happy to see John Karlen was able to attend. God bless him!

Perhaps you have a future writing for the Broadway stage.  [ghost_smiley]
