To get the forum ready for the upcoming conversion to the new system, I'm in the process of restoring to the database a few hundred posts (i.e. Robservations which had been posted between March 3 and August 15, 2002, their responses, and a few other topics) that were deleted to conserve Web space back when we were using YaBB SP. If that sounds like it might be an involved process, that's because it is - but the missing posts are all worth the trouble of restoring.
What I've done so that posting can continue is create a duplicate forum and database that only contains posts made in about the past three weeks. Certain sections of the BoardIndex (main page) and the stats section still say that everything dating back to January 2002 is still available, but trust me, it isn't.
This was all necessary because I need to have exclusive access to the real forum and database while the post restortion is going on. But rest assured that once it's complete, everything that's currently missing will return. And everything that gets posted here from this point on will be transferred to the real forum and database.
