Considering the fact that it is only 25 and not 100 years or more into the future, I don't think the 1995 clothes should be all that futuristic. Just think back 25 years and recall what you wore back in 1978 - those of you who were around then! It wasn't all THAT different really. Of course, I've never been a big fashion maven, so what I say may not reflect other people's experiences.
Stokes' hearing aid didn't bother me at all - I always saw the Professor as an old fashioned fellow anyway. What caught my eye was the fact that he was wearing a positively Victorian necktie. Now why would he be doing that? I've heard of elders wearing the clothes that they wore in their younger days, but not about people regressing to the fashions of their parents and grandparents. What's up with that?
Love this 1995 transition to the 1840 storyline, by the way! Nancy Barrett's acting is especially impressive.
