Forget everything you've known and loved (or hated) about the Karma feature because from now on the fate of your fellow posters, indeed, the fate of the feature itself is completely at the mercy of your mouse and your clicking finger, so pay close attention to what I'm about to explain...
As the Good vs. Evil polls have shown, it's more fun to enjoy a DS character when they're evil than it is when they're 100% human - while they're exhibiting their "goodness" as it were. And, in the case of the Barnabas poll, it's far more fun to be cursed than to be cured. And with that in mind, you'll notice that everyone's karma totals have been switched - what were once your cures are now your curses and what were once your curses are now your cures. From this moment on, curses will be what you'll most want to receive - or will you? You see, so long as your curses remain 50 points higher than your cures, you'll be able to cast curses and cures on your fellow posters. But should that difference dip below 50, well, you' ll no longer be able to use the Karma feature at all.. In fact, if that difference was to fall below 50 for every member, the entire Karma feature would cease to work for everyone - well, almost everyone. There's a spoiler in the mix (isn't there always?

). The way the feature was originally setup, members who hadn't made at least 119 posts couldn't participate, but that has all changed now. Those whose post totals are below 119 can now cast all they want. And what's more, upon completing their registrations, new members will immediately be able to take part, which means that so long as new people continue to register, the Karma feature will remain active - at least until the point that they have 50 more cures than curses and they haven't yet made their 119th post. Once they have reached their 119th post (and beyond) they'll be subject to the same restriction as everyone else - if they don't have at least 50 more curses than cures, they'll be unable to access Karma. And in either case, the Karma feature would shut down so long as no other member is still eligible to use it.
Scandalous, no? And what could be as much wicked good fun as possibly seeing the people who enjoy the Karma feature pitch their clicking fingers against those who would rather see it gone?
