I thought the premiere was acutally boring this year. I hope it picks up. Several of my friends felt the same way; however it could just be me and all the drama going on with my grandmother.

Just finished watching the 2nd one. They sure are packing a lot of "cliff hanger ending events" all throughout the show. What on earth are they going to do for a full season if that many incredible things happen in one episode?

I also enjoyed the season premiere - and wow what an ending. I never saw the twist with Caroline coming (and apparently neither did the people at tvguide.com for them to have placed it as #2 on their Top Moments of the week). And as Josette alluded, they seemed to have revved up everything by several notches, so this season should definitely be a wild ride.
And when you're done contemplating that, here's something new to read and to add some more fuel:

I'm really enjoying the show a lot. Great characters, just the right amount of wit, and occasionally cool music.

I totally agree Mark. And speaking of great characters (and performances), check out:
Matt's TV Week in Review
and scroll down to "SEEING DOUBLE:" to read what TV Guide's critic Matt Roush had to say about Nina Dobrev's dual performance on this past week's ep. (Hint: He might have liked it.

I love how they changed her hairstyle so the audience can tell the difference which character she's playing during the show.

Not pertaining to the show, but still worth knowing:
Anne Hathaway, 'Vampire Diaries' stars and others team up for new 'It Get's Better' PSA
(Also, Julie Benz alert for Buffy/Angel fans.
