Apparently for the last few days our host has been having MySQL server issues. If you've experienced any connection problems lately, those issues are to blame. But our host assures me they're doing all they can to correct the problem...

Thanks, MB, I was wondering. I was having trouble both at home and at work, so I knew the problem wasn't on my end. So far things seem OK tonight, however, so maybe our gracious host has resolved the issue.

It took approximately two minutes today for the DS page to load when I went to the site. Yesterday it took several minutes to load so perhaps the issue is almost resolved-It takes on an average now about seven seconds to turn a page a little slower than normal. I remember you saying that the site does not work well with IE. I use IE8 and Windows XP. Hopefully the issues will be fully resolved soon.

Sometimes the forum is slow because of something I'm doing. When I perform maintenance on the database, particularly with the messages table, it can take a few minutes because there are over 142,000 posts on the forum. Lately doing something like that has actually taken more than a few minutes because the MySQL server has been so slow to respond.

The response is back to its usual lightning speed. Hopefully things will continue this way.
