Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Shadow/Glow redux
« on: May 06, 2004, 04:00:37 PM »
Your masterpiece won't display as intended if your Font, Color, Size and other codes aren't inside the Shadow or Glow codes.  Exceptions to this are the codes for Move and Center.

For more info, follow these links:
Glow, Shadow
Using multiple YABB tags

MB explains why this ordering is necessary in the Glow, Shadow topic; his post is at the top of p. 2.  (Oh, look, Raineypark uses indianred in that topic. :P)

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Horizontal border
« on: May 06, 2004, 03:53:20 PM »
To save yourself the trouble of using multiple key strokes to create a horizontal border, simply type
Code: [Select]
[hr] to get
This is how the spacing above and below it will look without hitting the enter key before or after.

Unlike HTML, codes for color, size, etc. won't affect it.

Michael Hadge co-produced the documentary and adds a bit of humor to discussions during the planning of and rehearsals for Richard III.  In 1967, Michael Hadge played Buzz Hackett and, in a scene with Dennis Patrick, delivered the humorous line: "If you feel it, sit it."  :D

You can request an email reminder for any of the above times here

A 2-page article about the First Former Playboy Bunny International Reunion held earlier this week in Las Vegas begins on the front page of today's L.A. Times Calendar section.

To read the entire article online, go to http://www.latimes.com/la-et-lipton21apr21,1,4412416.story.  A free registration is required.  Here's an excerpt in which KLS is mentioned:

Many of the bunnies have matured into savvy women.  Seeing a cluster of them perched around the lobby, a middle-age hotel guest is prompted to stop Kathryn Leigh Scott, a Los Angeles publisher and actress who worked in the New York club in the early '60s.  "Hi, Bunny Kathryn," he says impishly.  "My God, it's a hotel full of beautiful women my own age," he adds.  Scott thanks him, then notes: "Some women here haven't seen each other in over 40 years."
The fact that they are together is due in part to Scott, who in 1998 wrote "The Bunny Years," which chronicled life at the Playboy clubs.  She was inspired to write it, she says, after running into a dismissive Gloria Steinem at a publishing party.  In 1963, the pioneer feminist worked undercover at the New York Playboy Club in order to pen a famously derisive magazine expose about gender inequality.
Though Steinem wasn't alone in seeing the bunnies as an artifact of society's rampant sexism, Scott and many of her former coworkers felt betrayed by the article.  They claimed that it did not reflect their handsome wages and the strict management guidelines that protected them from sexual harassment.  Many of them, like [Joyce] Woodward of the Chicago club, say they used the money to pay for college- in her case, Cornell.

There are 4 photos taken at the reunion that accompany the article, but none are of KLS.

For the Hallmarkless, a bio and images of Marsha Mason, plus an interview with her, and a synopsis and video preview of The Long Shot are available at http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/us_framework.jsp?TZ=TIMEZONES_92656

The time shown is Eastern, but any time zone can be entered on that page as needed.  The movie will air April 18 and April 21.

It's mentioned to her in her interview that she played a lot of memorable characters.  I'm sure none of us can forget Audrey the Leviathan Vampire Girl. :D

Happy 30th to Marley!

Thanks to MB's excellent tutoring, videos of Marley Shelton's scenes in the May 31 episode of Karen Sisco are now available on the "WB DS Actors" board.  As with the other vids,  the number of clips available to you depends on your current forum status.  Newbies and Guests are able to see a 160X120 clip of Marley's first appearance in the ep but also where, unfortunately, her face isn't shown, whereas Senior members and above will have 5 320X240 videos available to them, with Full and Junior members falling between with 2 and 3 respectively.

When I made the vids I neglected to allow them to play on older versions of RealPlayer, so viewers will probably need to upgrade their RP version if they haven't already done so.  I'm very sorry for that, but it was my first attempt at creating videos. :-

Marley played a bank robber before in the movie "Sugar and Spice".  On Karen Sisco, Tweety, er, Molly becomes sympathetic in the 2nd clip (available to all members except newbies); however, I'm not wild about her acting in this episode.  Would love to hear what you think after you've watched.

Once again, your patience is required while the connection is made to the server and the video clip is dl'd, and how long it takes will depend on your individual Internet connection speed.

Enjoy!

[9251]  <---- Midnite jumps for joy that she managed it at all and is grateful for MB's patience and guidance
