Rebecca Staab appears in tonight's new NCIS titled "Terminal Leave".  8 p.m., CBS.

Ely Pouget was on the show last month.  If this is going to be a trend, I vote they use Michael T. Weiss next.  ;)

All of Jackie's vids and collages are worth checking out, but I think this one is especially lovely.  It's atop her forum at:

http://pub38.bravenet.com/forum/3246861296

She posts these for a limited time.  There's a topic about it further down on her posting board called, appropriately, "Wow, awesome collage!"

The weeks preceding Halloween are always a treat for horror movies fans.  Here's a list of the upcoming movies airing on TCM between now and the end of the month that DS ripped--, er, borrowed from, followed by a brief mention of the inspiration they provided:

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1932)
TCM Sunday 7:15 p.m. Pacific / 10:15 p.m. Eastern

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1920)
TCM Sunday 9 p.m. Pacific / Monday 12 a.m. Eastern

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1941)
TCM Sunday 11 p.m. Pacific / Monday 2 a.m. Eastern

     The Cyrus Longworth/John Yaeger storyline

The Wolf Man (1941)
TCM Monday 7:45 p.m. Pacific / 10:45 p.m. Eastern

Provided numerous ideas for DS, not the least of which is the wolf's head cane that Larry Talbot carried

Frankenstein (1931)
TCM Monday 10:15 p.m. Pacific / Tuesday 1:15 a.m. Eastern

     The Adam storyline

Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
TCM Monday 11:30 p.m. Pacific / Tuesday 2:30 a.m. Eastern

     The Eve story

The Beast With Five Fingers (1946)
TCM Friday 6:15 p.m. Pacific / 9:15 p.m. Eastern

Barnabas' revenge using a disembodied hand

I Walked With a Zombie (1943)
TCM Sunday 5 a.m. Pacific / 8 a.m. Eastern

     Quentin as zombie story

Enjoy!

(Unfortunately, no HoDS or NoDS this year.  :()

Current Talk '04 II / DS mentioned in EW article on SciFI channel
« on: October 16, 2004, 09:10:46 PM »
From Entertainment Weekly article ("Popular Science"-- October 22, 2004; p. 84) about an ongoing SciFi channel makeover and its subsequent ratings growth:

[About SFC continuing to reach new plateaus] "True, but it's taken a while to climb out of Nerd Valley. Launched in 1992, Sci Fi quickly became the place to go...when you were bored and wondered if anything was actually on Channel 116. Highlights included repeats of the '60s soap Dark Shadows, and an insect puppet hosting Bug Week. When the millenium dawned, Sci Fi decided to aim a little higher."

Boy, talk about backhanded compliment.  ::)

A more interesting tidbit in this article-- 43% of SFC viewers are female.  :D

Variety reported yesterday that X-Files writer/Exec. Producer Frank Spotnitz is devoloping a "fresh take" on Kolchak:  The Night Stalker for ABC.  SCI FI Wire also has the story:

Kolchak Stalks Again?

It's cool to see the alphabet network not shying away from supernatural shows.  And, to help make this announcement less off-topic, I'll mention that Dan Curtis was involved with both Kolchak movies.

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 II / Ely Pouget on TV (again)
« on: October 13, 2004, 02:25:48 AM »
The WB {cough, cough} has a photo on their site of Ely Pouget from Charmed, which aired this last weekend--

Ely Pouget

There's more info about the ep here, but it doesn't mention her, nor does it mention Charisma Carpenter who guest starred as a seer {cough}.  The Charmed ep guide seems rather preoccupied with Nick Lachey {fit of coughing}.

 :D

Zap2it called it "pastiche" [because it's inspired by Shelley's novel but based on characters created by Dean Koontz] ... (this link will take you to MB's post about the Hallmark version):
Alec Newman Trades Fangs for 'Frankenstein'
... but USA Network's upcoming adaptation of Frankenstein also boasts a DS cast member-- Ivana Milicevic in the role of Victor's wife Erika (Helios, he changed his name from Frankenstein-- the story takes place in the present day and the creator is now the monster).  It premieres Sunday, October 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. CT, and will probably be repeated ad infinitum.

See http://www.usanetwork.com/movies/frankenstein/ for photos, bio and video clip of an interview with Ivana.

Also, her IMDb listing has several photos of her in the role.  Here's a sample:
Ivana Milicevic

This one isn't nearly as well reviewed as Hallmark's.  You've been warned.  ;)

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 II / DS alum was on tonight's Navy NCIS
« on: September 29, 2004, 06:46:51 AM »
If you were disappointed that the '91 series writers veered completely from having Barnabas kidnap and imprison Maggie Evans, then I hope you watched tonight's season premiere of Navy NCIS.  Ely Pouget played the kidnapped wife of a Navy captain who was snatched from her home along with her blind daughter, and she spent much of the episode bound, gagged, and tormented.

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to tape the ep, and if anyone did please feel free to post a screen grab or two or more.  Ely looked fantastic!

Hope you had a fantastic birthday, Selby D. Pearson!

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 II / Cagney & Lacey now airs in L.A.
« on: September 27, 2004, 06:26:09 PM »
Cagney & Lacey begins a 10 a.m. weekday run today on KDOC-- an O.C. station that broadcasts all over the L.A. area.  If you're seeing this, it's on now with Barbara Cason (Mrs. Dennis Patrick/Mrs. J in HoDS) in a featured role.  And, of course, John Karlen appears as Harvey Lacey.

Usually, KDOC will start a show with its pilot, but for some reason it began this one with a 2nd season ep.
