I am glad you enjoyed the article. I have only read a bit of it. For anyone who cares (I doubt anyone other than you or I will look at it, but who knows), if you continue scrolling through the very long article, there are some Not Safe for the Workplace photos, mostly featuring naked Dennis Parker, who was a gorgeous man, but there's at least a little female nudity as well, I think.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about Sharon Gabet or the other actors you mentioned. The only soap operas I ever watched were DARK SHADOWS and STRANGE PARADISE. I'm on episode 165 of SP now, and have really been enjoying finally watching the last storyline which lasted the final 13 weeks of the show. I had seen most of it back in the 1990s thanks to a friend's kindness, but watched tapes out of order and in a rather spotty, undisciplined way.

Best, G.

Here's an interesting article about Dennis Parker:

Kim Hunter is always a delight. I enjoyed seeing her in this.

That is fascinating, Uncle Roger.

Years ago, I loaned the DVD of DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS to a dear friend who is a few years older than myself. When he gave it back to me, he offered his opinion that Karlen could have done gay porn in the Seventies.

Uncle Roger, was Kim Hunter the "washed up actress" being interrogated by the police captain, who did indeed look a lot like a gay pornstar of the Seventies?

I don't think most fans care about this kind of thing any longer. Perhaps it was always a minority pursuit. I still get really excited whenever I find more scenes of Grayson on One Life to Live, and it was such a treat to see Humbert show up in another EDGE OF NIGHT episode.

A fan on social media found this episode, which has a scene in which Joel and Donna Wandrey (who obviously did not overlap on DS) have an encounter. Date is 1980.

The same fan posted snapshots from Donna's recent appearance on LAW & ORDER: SVU, on May 2. I think it is a current TV show.

Donna looked great!

I presume you're alluding in your usual sly, artful way to the presence of Bella Heathcote in this project. I just learned of its existence this evening and played one of the trailers. I don't know Bella's work well enough to have spotted her.

Jack Parsons made some very important contributions to the revival of occult, Pagan practice in the US, and his writing has been influential worldwide in this 21st century. And of course, he was a very significant pioneer in the history of rocket engineering and what eventually became NASA. I doubt the movie will be anything more than florid, sensationalist schlock. But maybe it will also be a bit of fun. I doubt I'll be seeing it, but perhaps if there is a DVD release and IF the local library acquires it...

I don't know if this link has already been posted here:

If that's really the logic behind the trailer being taken down--for paid subscribers only--wow.

It may have gotten beyond the level of scraping the bottom of the DS franchise barrel, at this point. I haven't heard of anyone who actually subscribes to that service. I own all the DVDs so there is no point in it for me.

I've always been curious about the infamous DS documentary that was shown or produced for the Sci Fi network. From what I vaguely recall about it, that was in epically bad taste but it did make people stay awake...

A well-known fan from the original broadcast era posted (on social media) a link for a trailer for the new documentary, which had been posted to youtube. Within a very short time, the youtube video had been pulled. It was gone by the time I saw the post so I have not seen this trailer.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around the mindset that would not want A TRAILER out there to promote a product. Presumably it is because an actual launch date has yet to be finalized.

The fan joked, after the link had been disabled, that perhaps the 50th anniversary video would be released in time for the actual SIXTIETH anniversary of the show. That seems increasingly likely.

This is actually a positive review of a screening of some footage from the remake.

I have no interest, but I know there are some of you who are fascinated. I guess Tilda is in the role originally played by Joan Bennett.

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't this supposed to be the 1980-whenever Laura suddenly being replaced by portraits of Angelique?

It seems from what you have written about the plans for the series arc that when "Laura" returned in season 2, she was really going to be Angelique (once the spirit of the latter was cast out from Julia, or was it Maggie--I can't recall).

This is a well done interview with Parker Posey. Her role in the remake is discussed in the broader context of her career. I was amused that she asked another actress if she thought they were doing an episode of Columbo.

This was one I missed back then--it echoes some of the same themes as CROWHAVEN FARM. THE LAST BRIDE OF SALEM (1974).

I first heard about it maybe 8 or 9 years ago.
