sorry if this was a 'bit' offensive [jester]

Nope, not offended in the least.  But I am mad at you for making me laugh out loud in the office like that  ;D

I agree....this was pretty funny stuff.  I like that they had a perfectly dug out grave - into which someone? had placed a coffin containing a dead 6 ft tall person.  Hmmmm....only Willie & Julia were there.  Who carried that thing?

AND......neither one had a smudge of dirt on them and neither one seemed to have even broken a sweat!!!

But the best - absolutely BEST line for me  was when Willie did that bit about "oh no! now the dogs are gonna start howling again"

Thought I'd just about fall off the couch!

I totally agree with you about the bedroom.  Early tacky!!

And the other thing that struck me is that Carolyn had been gone for 2 days - she's very wealthy - and all they could dig up for her to eat was a cheese sandwich?! ::)  Now, don't get me wrong, the china was fancy shmancy....but it was still a cheese sandwich!!!

When DS first aired in 1966, I was in grammar school in Queens and some friends also watched.

These days, I tape the episodes and my husband watches with me (no choice on his part - there's only 1 tv right now ;D) (in NJ now)

And.....I pass along the tapes to my step daughter (in Norwood, MA) who has become just as much of a DS addict as me.  My 4 year old likes to watch occasionally - he just couldn't understand when Barnabus aged ("what happened to him? He got OLD!!).  And, most importantly, he knows how to set up "mommy's channel" before he leaves for daycare - so I don't end up with tapes of Sponge Bob Squarepants  ;)

Current Talk '02 I / Collinwood's Hobey Baker trophy
« on: May 31, 2002, 03:59:27 PM »
Hello all!

Well, I was watching my DS tape of yesterday's episodes with my husband (he is not an original DS fan - but has been watching all of the shows with me this go around).  He looked up and said, "what's with the Hobey Baker trophy?"  (my husband is a big-time hockey fan and, for those who don't know about it - as I didn't when we first met - the Hobey Baker trophy is a college level hockey trophy). I looked to see what he was looking at and, sure enough, the statue on the table in the hallway (where the phone is) looks like a guy playing hockey :D

So, for the rest of the night my husband gave encouragement to the DS characters by saying, "make Hobey proud!"

Sigh....oh well, at least he's watching with me, right?  ;D

Current Talk '02 I / Re: How did you take it?

Yes, I remember that, too.  Do you all remember that last episode? The last scene where they carry Caroline into the house saying that it looks as though she's been bitten by an "animal"?  Then there was a voiceover saying something like - "and in this case it really was an animal" - or some such stuff.  I got excited when they first carried her in - thinking that perhaps it had been a mistake and they really weren't going to take it off.  I tuned in on Monday also, only to see PW.

Sigh......

Awwwww, you don't like the lime green?? I love that color!!! I wish that's what people wore nowadays! It's so bright and colorful and cheery and outgoing!!!! It reminds me of the green Fruit Loops or Apple Jacks or some kind of green cereal. Or even green Skittles, although not that dark. I love Carolyn in lime green! It really epitomizes her character so well -- loud and outgoing and hard to miss and ..... eeeee!!!!  ;D ;D I love lime green!!!!!!

Actually, I think that was called "apple green".  I've gotten my husband to watch with me and every time he sees Cassy in the green coat/dress combo he says, "I just know I dated that coat".

Hmmmm.........must be having a memory glitch here.

I seem to recall that the seance that sent Vicky to the past was held to contact Sarah 'cause there was concern (well founded) about David and his fear (also well founded) of Barnabus.

Yesterday.....David ran into his arms.   ?!? No Sarah - no fear.....did I miss something here?  Or is this another DS time sort of thing?    ;)

Funny thing.....I was about 10 when DS was aired and was a faithful watcher.  I remember all of 1795, but can only vaguely remember the Adam storyline.  Maybe it's that psychological thing that happens when you experience something painful!!!  'Cause this storyline sure is painful!!  ;D

c'ya!!!
