If you search on tumblr https://www.tumblr.com/search/dark+shadows 99.9999% the top DS related posts are from the Burton version, so it has it's own fanbase, but I'm not sure how active it is currently.

Fantastic news! I am totally psyched!

Hi Gothick! I haven't tried that series yet but I'll definitely give it a shot. Quiet, Please, Lights Out, and Suspense are my favorites. ;D

I've been listening to old radio shows at work to get into the spirit of the Halloween season, and stumbled across this story from 1934 on The Witches Tale series. In it two brothers inherit an old mansion in Louisiana with a graveyard in the yard. They arrive pre-dawn and see the laughing figure of a woman in white in the house, upon following her to the cellar they find the tomb of the builder's wife who died young in the early 1800s. I don't want to give away too much of the story in case you guys are also interested in listening, but there are soooooooooooo many parallels to Dark Shadows one could think maybe the writer's heard this story back in the day and then subconsciously dragged it up when coming up with plotlines.

They're still available over on the Big Finish Site so far as I know.

This might be fun? I am so torn because Jack Huston is in it.

I'm playing catch up with these, recently having listened to Harvest of Souls and The Darkest Shadow.

Harvest of Souls I couldn't finish the first listen to, I wasn't in the mindset to listen to
Maggie Evans attempt suicide
. I put it away for a couple weeks and pulled it out again and finished it. It was really bittersweet. The acting was pretty good, but I'm not entirely satisfied with the direction the characters went in.

The Darkest Shadow I finished this morning while at work. The first half was excellent, I loved it, tore my heart out in places! Then the second half happened and it all fell apart. Oh so many things so very wrong! And then they hamfistedly forced it to fit into The Haunted Refrain. The premise itself was good, but not the execution (IMHO).

I've heard Carriage of the Damned is good so I'm looking forward to listening to that next.

I missed out on the con rates but I just booked my room. SO EXCITED! First con since 2007!

The Woman in Black, the original adaption, is available to watch somewhere in it's entirety on youtube. I started watching it at work a few weeks ago and was getting really creeped out sitting at my desk in the middle of the day! I need to finish it! I can't find it there anymore, but I downloaded it before it could disappear. Anyone that wants to check it out I'll be happy to post it for download on my website as it's not available for purchase.

I haven't read Ghost Story yet, but I actually enjoyed the movie a lot. I'll grab the book tonight on my kindle if it's available.

Thanks so much you guys! I just finished my write up of The Night Stalker tonight (which I loved!) and will do The Night Strangler next week. I'm going to poke around on the forums and see what I missed. It's good to be back!
