Philippe, No, I had never heard of it. It's a distance from me in an area I'm not too familiar with. But it's in the same county, so it's not too far. I looked it up to see just where it is, and I have been on some of the major roads nearby. I'm hoping at some point to drive by.

On Facebook I came across a post from a local TV station news about a mansion in the vicinity that’s for sale for almost $4 million. Part of it looks a bit like Collinwood. I don’t know if I can post pictures here, but they call it Castle Bristlecone, so Google it and you’ll see.

In the comments on the post, one person said: “It’s the Collinwood of SW PA!” (No one reacted to that.)

And when looking it up, I came across an article which said, “Castle Bristlecone was inspired, in part, by Seaview Terrace, also known as the Carey Mansion in Newport, R.I., and design elements are pulled from British and French architecture in the Châteauesque style.”

So, it really is “our” Collinwood!

Gerard, they are using Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side for the show. Other than Pitt implying Pittsburgh, apparently the ER is in the basement and is referred to as The Pitt.

This season there has been a new medical drama, "The Pitt" on Max. Since it's set in Pittsburgh and they used an actual hospital here and filmed exteriors there and tried to faithfully replicate it on the set, I was interested. It's received a lot of great reviews for how faithful it is to actual ER practice, with a number of medical professionals saying it's the first they felt like they were watching something true to their lives.

Since I get Max, I've been considering going back to watch it (the final episode is apparently this Thursday). I looked it up tonight and had never heard of any of the cast until I suddenly came to the name Joanna Going!! I don't think I've seen her in anything other than DS, and that was obviously a long time ago, so it would be interesting to see her now. Since I was probably going to watch it anyway, that's an additional incentive!

News:
