yesterday i went to the DARK DELICACIES bookstore in burbank. i purchased the new book, "DARK SHADOWS:THE SALEM BRANCH". LARA PARKER was signing for a group of about 20-30 fans. not a big turnout but Lara said it was better than the 6 fans that showed up in San Diego! Laura a.k.a. victoria winters and louis wendruck arranged a dinner with Lara and her husband at a nearby Marie Callenders. we were a group of 15 and had a great meal and great time.

Oh good!  She's still w/Jim!  I look forward to seeing his handsome mug in FOUR WEEKS!  Whoo-hoo!  Countdown has begun!!  (can you tell my pain meds for my on-going back pain have kicked in?  I'm so HIGH right now!  ;))

So you've got back trouble, too, BuzzH?  I've had herniated discs on my lower back for years!  Do yourself a favor (if you haven't already!) and see a chiropractor.  Believe me, they know what they're doing!

Don't I know it, if the pain continues I will do just that.  This all happened last August when I lifted something heavy (a queen size Aerobed) and turned to walk it to the closet where it's stored.  It hasn't been ongoing for a year, but sporadic.  Anyway my sister had a herniated disk and had serious back surgery about 3 years ago.  I also have 2 brothers w/back trouble, think it runs in our family (although both parents haven't ever had back problems).

BTW, I'm now nauseous from my wonderful earlier 'high'.   :'(

Lara will be at Booksmith's here in San Francisco on Fri 9/15 at 7PM.
The store is on Haight Street, right by the famed Ashbury intersection!

Sorry her book tour turnout is so low.
Come on, folks, let's show up & support her, let's keep DS alive!

Charles, in your area, there's only her stop in Whippany, New Jersey the day before the Fest begins.

Other pre-Fest appearances:

     Salem, OR on Aug. 9
     Portland, OR at some time between Aug. 10-13
     Memphis, TN on Aug. 17
     Columbus, OH on Aug. 22
     Dayton, OH on Aug. 23

Following the Fest (in addition to San Franciso):

     Philadelphia on Aug. 29 (tentative?)
     Brentwood, CA on Sept. 13

I was there at the Burbank, CA. book signing, too!   [bigok] I  got to sit next to Lara at dinner! [cheesyg]  I flew down from the SF Bay Area for the occasion.  [Bat]  I  might also attend the book signing in San Francisco in September - it's only about 30 miles away!  [cheesyg]

I am very glad that Lara is going to be making a stop in Columbus OH. I live 2 hours away and will be very happy to make the trip down to Columbus to see Lara. The Salem Branch has been a great read so far and I look forward to telling her so.

I'll be at the SF CA event.

I'll also be sending out announcements of her appearance to the calendar listings sections of the local press~~that should get her a crowd.
I hope people in other areas will do the same.

And, I'm pleased to announce that I'll be reviewing the book in Scary Monsters & Videoscope Magazines.

Thanks for the pictures, all!! Sorry the book signing turnouts have been so low, too.  I can't get to any of her signings, but I did buy 3 copies of the book, so am supporting the novel that way...my good friend is enjoying the book,too!!
