i haven't seen HODS but i do have NODS on video and the change in location from the house used on the show to the one used in the movies is very noticable to me.

in NODS i didn't feel like i was at collinwood at all.

Seaview, hands down!  Lyndhurst feels more like a parallel time Collinwood to me.  I've been to both mansions and although Lyndhurst is retored because it's part of a preservation society, or something, (historic landmark), Seaview, even sadly run down, is by far my favorite of the two.  Running around inside it, and lying on the back lawn w/the ocean crashing in the background is something every DS fan should get to do!  ;)
Buzz-isms:

"I like the bike I got, & the chick I got!"
"I know just the place!?Over in Logansport!"
"If ya feel it, SIT it!"
"Come on, before he offers me a side car too!"
"Her nose needed some powder!"
"You askin' me to give up something I like?"

If I separate them from DS, Lyndhurst would win when it comes to looks. It has the look I love. That "castle" look. I've always had a fondness for that style.

But when it comes to DS, Seaview will always be Collinwood to me.

Seaview IS Collinwood.

WHAT RETSEV SAID!!!!    [cheers] [91a2]

(And this is from someone who lives near the Tarrytown one.  It just doesn't convey the same atmostphere, not to  mention being WAYYY TOO SMALL for the period.  Then again, Seaview is too ORNATE for the Federalist period, but there you go!  At least Seaview had the rambling size and room for guests that any mansion of the period HAD to have just because of what travel was like then.)

The Seaview Terrace in Newport, Rhode Island was more like Collinwood than the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, New York.
