How do you add a graphic to your profile signature?

I was doing some playing around yesterday with some signature tags that I had forgotten I had.  I have seen graphics, most often site banners, as part of various cousins' signatures when they post, so I tried to put one of the tags in my signature in my profile -- and failed miserably.  (I already have an avatar uploaded, so its not that location I am talking about, but a graphic included with my signature at the bottom of each message.)

I'm not very graphics savvy (my websites are built with the provider's site building tool) though I can clean up photos using various programs.  I tried to insert the file via a copy and paste (ctl c ctrl v). Could someone please let me know what it is I'm  doing wrong? (The graphic is saved as a paint shop pro file if this helps one way or the other.)

Any suggestions are gratefully and grovellingly appreciated.

Including a graphic in your sig doesn't quite work the same way as choosing an avatar does. With avatars a member can choose to use one that's already available on the forum, upload their own to the forum's Web space, or link to one that's been uploaded to their own Web space. But with sig graphics the only option is to link to a graphic that's been uploaded to a member's own Web space. A member needs to use the forum's IMG tags to put something like:

[img]http://www.yoursite.com/yourimage.jpg[/img]
somewhere in the box opposite "Signature:" on their profile's "Forum Profile Information" page, replacing "yoursite.com" with their own Web space, and replacing "yourimage.jpg" with the name of the image they want to display in their sig.

Thanks so much!  My avatar is from photobucket, so the outside site isnt' really an issue.  It looks like the coding you provided was the part of the puzzle I was missing. Hopefully I got it right this time and this works, if not I will play with it some more.
