Seaview in the Wall Street Journal
« on: October 03, 2025, 10:54:05 PM »
The friend whose house I've been staying at for months loves to read the Friday edition of the Wall Street Journal. And lo and behold he just found an article in today's edition about how Denise Carey has put Seaview up for sale. But apparently the article was published on the paper's Web site back on September 26th, or so I discovered when I went there to see if the article was on the Web site.

EXCLUSIVE
I Went Inside One of Newport’s Famous Mansions

The nearly 44,000-square-foot home asking $28.5 million is among the largest of these estates still in private hands.

Reporting and videos by E.B. Solomont

September 26, 2025

Appeared in the Oct 3, 2025, print edition as 'I Toured a Newport Mansion'

It looks like you need to pay to read the article. However, it just so happens that I have access to a scanner and can scan/post it, probably tomorrow. Although, if you only want to hear part of the article, you can listen to it via the link above.

Pretty interesting, I imagine it’s hard to maintain a mansion.

Cool that audio clip of it.  Glad you pointed it out  [easter_smiley]

Does the website block you from taking take screenshots or ad in lots of ads that make it hard to read?

Interestingly enough, the photo of Seaview is presented differently in the print edition than it is on the Web site:

More to come (including 3 photos of the interior).

Cool.
Talk about a dream come true.
Thanks, MB. Looking forward....

I'd be tempted to redecorate to fit the TV version. At least the foyer and drawing room.

Thank you, MB, for scanning it for us - very interesting!!  (Interesting that there was no mention of the possibility of it being haunted - I remember watching the episode of the ghost hunting series when they went there.)
