A Cousin Passes

It has just come to my attention that longtime DS fan Tim Choate, who posted here as Mrjuggins passed away in early September of 2022.

Yes, I remember reading Tim’s insightful postings as Mr. Juggins here on the Dark Shadows Forums.

Requiem aeternam, Mr. Choate.

Wow, I didn’t know him hard at all, but it’s still pretty sad.

I think the fan fiction series I started reading might be hosted on his tripod page too.

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear this.  We occasionally corresponded.  He was very nice.  I'm sure many of you will remember the very comprehensive Dark Shadows FAQ that he prepared.  Really sad.

This is very sad news.

Back when I first came online in the '90s Tim was a very prominent poster in online DS fandom, particularly on the the AOL DS boards and he often participated in the AOL chats.

I'm sure many of you will remember the very comprehensive Dark Shadows FAQ that he prepared.

Yes, the FAQ he compiled with Roy-Alan Hansen was a valuable resource back in its day, especially when there were no such things as the PomPress books. (Not to mention it probably has fewer errors.  [easter_wink] [easter_rolleyes]) It's still available in both online form -

DARK SHADOWS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS HOMEPAGE

- and as a PDF -

Dark Shadows FAQ

- along with Tim's other online sites, which are too many to list, and which document in photos so many DS Fests, events, and many of the fans who took part in them.

Tim's great enthusiasm for DS and life in general will definitely be missed. But so long as the free hosting sites that Tim used continue to exist, all his hard work on behalf of DS will continue to live on for fans to enjoy...

Sad news - wish he had posted here more often as his knowledge of DS was vast! But I think his greatest activity in the DS world was probably in the 1970s, '80s, and '90s, unless I'm mistaken. I recall he had a great DS website; wish I remembered more about it, or that it could still be accessed. I'm pretty sure that's where I found and fortunately saved and still have the "DS FAQ," such a fantastic resource!

I beg your pardon, I had originally read this topic a week or two ago and apparently not very thoroughly other than the unfortunate news, so I see that my comments had already been addressed. I did find that his DS website can still be accessed through the Internet archive, through its updatings over the years and, to my surprise, as recently as 2020!
