I'm probably a minority on this one, but I wasn't even that into Nicholas Blair...nothing wrong with Humbert Astredo, I suppose there were just too many supernatural beings running around during the Adam storyline. Maybe I would have enjoyed him more if there had been no Adam and Eve subplot and it had just been Cassandra & Nicholas vs. Barnabas & the Collins family. He had too many scenes with Adam & Eve, and they both drove me up the wall.

Actually, my viewing history of Adam/dreamcurse/angelique/nicholas Blair is petty sketchy 'cause I stopped buying tapes once I realized how silly it all was. I also FF through all Eve/Professor Lang/and anything to do with the "experiment" including segments when Barnabas was saying "experiment" every two sentences. I focused primarily on Nicholas Blair/Maggie Evans stuff (hot some of them) I loooove it when Nicholas is seducing Maggie at the Blue Whale. I saw some of the early Adam/Willie cruelties that are fairly strong due to excellent Karlen and Robert Rodan. I also enjoyed much of the Angelique/Nicholas bantering, but, you kinda knew Angelique would eventually kick his butt. She was the meanest of them all.

but looking back on it humbert astredo brought alot of nuance to the character of nicholas blair and his scenes with lara parker were often excellent.

I agree, I thought Lara and HAA were hilarious in their scenes.  My favorite scene between them has to be
when they are at the gazebo during the 1968 plotline and he want's her to do something and she says she can't because she's too embroiled in the family problems at CW.  He says to her, "My dear Cassandra, how commonplace you have become.  Worrying about little human problems like some suburban housewife!"
Classic!   ;D
