Thanks so much, MB!

Despite the visual component on YouTube, the audio version of the podcast still seems to have a lot more subscribers, at least according to the analytics for the RSS feeds, but I've heard conflicting reports about the accuracy of those numbers. Either way, I'm grateful to all who check out the show. Currently editing the Gold Key comics episode.

Correction, as I can no longer edit the post.
The description should read - "From November 1968 to February 1976," instead of "March 1969". I was using the reprint date for issue 1, as Jeff pointed out during the episode.

The conversation about the Gold Key comics was so lively and a lot of fun! I'm not a fan of the comics, but this morning I rummaged through my shelves and brought the one book I still possess along to peruse on my commute--issue 3. I'm surprised at how well done I found the story, and unlike a lot of the later numbers (from what I have read--memory has failed and I stopped buying the book sometime in 1972, I think), the story actually feels like something that might have been done on DS. You do have to smile at Professor Stokes being addressed as "Dr. Stokes." I think I could hear an astral snort of derision from Dr. Hoffman when I read that, lol.

Last week I enjoyed watching the episode featuring handsome James Storm and his lovely bride, Valerie Pronio. It was interesting to hear Jim mention towards the end that he appeared in an episode of the recent here! TV series, The Lair: Onlyfangs. It looks as if his role isn't documented on IMDB, not surprising given that this series seems kind of ephemeral. I watched a five minute preview of the first episode online and it seemed like a parody of What we do in the shadows, which was already a parody to begin with. As Miss Brodie once commented, "For those who like that sort of thing, that is the sort of thing that they like." But the cast is attractive and the sets are beautifully dressed.

Terror at Collinwood Episode 91: The 1991 Dark Shadows NBC Revival Series with Dominique Lamssies and Steven Stark

Although its run was short-lived, NBC’s 1991 Dark Shadows revival series left indelible fang marks upon its fans. A beautifully produced prime-time series helmed by Dan Curtis himself, the ’91 DS featured the likes of Ben Cross, Joanna Going, Barbara Steele, Jean Simmons, Roy Thinnes, Lysette Anthony, Adrian Paul, and a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt, among many others. While the series generated much excitement among the fanbase and debuted to great success, it was unceremoniously canceled after only twelve episodes. Two of the show’s diehard fans, Dominique Lamssies and Steven Stark, who first became DS fans by way of the 1991 series, visit the podcast to help examine the show’s characters and plotlines. Other topics include: ’91 series merchandise, music, costumes, Collinwood, home video releases, turtleneck sweaters, and more!

Speaking of turtleneck sweaters, back in early January of 1991 when Inside Edition did a segment to promote the '91 Series, Bill O'Reilly, who hosted the show, actually commented about how Barnabas was wearing a turtle in one of the clips that was shown:

The funny thing is that before that it never struck me as anything out of the ordinary, probably because there had already been seemingly dozens of promotional photos released of Barnabas wearing a turtleneck.
