12:15 p.m. A Discovery of Witches (AMC/BBC America): The panel will feature an introduction by author Deborah Harkness and Bad Wolf executive producer Lachlan MacKinnon and a Q&A with stars Matthew Goode, Teresa Palmer, Ed Bluemel, Adelle Leonce, and Steven Cree from the set of the infamous Congregation (in Wolf Studios Wales) where they are filming Season 3.

A Discovery of Witches (Saturday, streaming on Sundance Now, Shudder, AMC+): A hit for Sundance Now, the romantic supernatural spellbinder based on Deborah Harkness's fantasy trilogy takes on a sumptuous Masterpiece sheen in its second season by borrowing from the Outlanderplaybook. Which means time travel, when powerful witch Diana (Teresa Palmer) and her ancient vampire lover Matthew (Matthew Goode) zap back in time to 1590 London. Fantasy intersects seductively with history as Diana, a scholar who knows everything except how to control her abilities, flees her modern-day enemies and Matthew confronts his treacherous past as a spy for Queen Elizabeth I. Diana's goal is to learn, with the help of a local coven, how to control her gifts even as she and Matthew continue to seek the mysterious Book of Life, rumored to explain the origin of their occult species. As their Elizabethan contemporary Shakespeare might put it: Something wickedly irresistible this way comes.

Worth Watching:

A Discovery of Witches (Saturday, streaming on Sundance Now an Shudder): The second season of the seductive supernatural drama — part True Blood, part Outlander — reaches its penultimate episode and a new height of sensuality when gifted time-traveling witch Diana (Teresa Palmer) and her immortal vampire spouse Matthew (a riveting Matthew Goode) return from Bohemia to face the wrath of Queen Elizabeth I (Barbara Marten). There’s a new urgency for them to return to the 2000s from 16th-century Europe, but first Diana must complete her training and study from the Book of Life. (Much like WandaVision going flat whenever it went outside the Westview bubble, Witches is so much more fascinating in the past than the present.)
