I still find it hard to believe that the publicity about a remake of the old Sixties TV show THE BANANA SPLITS as a hardcore splatter movie isn't somebody's twisted idea of a joke... but now, there's a trailer:

This thing is going straight to video release, but guess what? There's going to be a television screening. Now, where would that happen? Whee else but on the home of the last standing outpost for extreme schlock left on the airwaves... the "SyFy" network!

   I'd never heard of this. And I also find it hard to believe that it's not a joke.    But the fact that SyFy will show it - that I have no problem believing.

Thanks heaven you'd already warned me this lunacy exists. One really has to wonder how the people behind it became so twisted as to not only conceive it but to actually make it. Is it because they supposedly "loved" the original show so much - or did they "hate" it so much that this is what they felt they had to reduce it to? The comments to the article are spot on!
