I just got back from seeing Suspiria. While I wasn't that crazy about the original, it is sort of a Dark Shadows legacy and I do like Dakota Johnson and Chloe Moretz so I wanted to check it out. As for the movie... well I can sorta describe it as a little bit of the original, mixed with Rosemarys Baby without the baby, mixed with Satan's School for Girls on steroids (or maybe a ill LSD) into a non scary but really disturbing in not a good way mess. Chloe was really only in the opening scene and I almost didn't recognize her. I could follow parts of the movie but it was pretty muddled overall. Can see why Dakota had to go to therapy afterwards. There were only 7 people total in the theatre and 1 older couple bailed after an hour. I'm pretty sure it won't have any box office or be around long.  [crazy2]

Suspiria’ a twisted, mesmerizing tale

References Joan Bennett (and DS) as appearing in the original...
