Semi-OT: My Tribute to Quentin Collins
« on: September 12, 2005, 05:30:05 PM »
Like my new avatar and signature? At some other forums, I won someone in a "staff auction" so I had him put this set together for me. Anyone like it?  ;D

I want to hear  about the "staff auction".  How did THAT work?  [scrdy]

LOL, Well, these forums are actually affiliated with Neopets, so the members get to bid on the Staff Members with their "NeoPoints." I personally don't really USE Neopets anymore, and I have a few million NeoPoints (NP), so I figured I'd spend them on our little forum carnival (it was actually for our third year anniversary). So, therefore, I won this guy by spending 902,000 NP (this one guy wouldn't give up). :( I always spend the most NP on people every year. At our first carnival I spent 150,000, last year I spent 1,901,000 NP, and this year...

Well, anyways, yeah, I guess that's pretty much it. Most of the people up for auction would say...graphics, for example, would be another's prize.

Some examples:

What's there to say about Ry?  With GC status, he has to be good. Somehow, he managed to be the only guy on here  He's offering you a choice from the following items;
Sets
Banners
Coded Blogs
Buttons
Faders/Blinkies/Fill-ups
Wallpapers
Uncoded Livejournal wallpapers, friends-only banner & icon
Blends
Coded Neopets lookup
Website layout graphics
Website layout coding (Divs, Table, I-Frame)
Alright, the starting bid for Rylon is 1k (1,ooo neopoints)with a minimum of 1k increase. Happy bidding

With her awesome skills as a moderator and an awesome graphictian, Eve is offering,
1 Set (avatar/signature)
1 Hour of Chatting on AIM
1 Random Item from my SDB
1 Gaia ID Card
1 Gaia Heart Sign (will explain)
1 Gaia Bump Sign
1 Desktop Background
1 Livejournal Layout
2 LJ Icons (can be mini-movie if I have DVD)
2 MSN Icons
2 AIM Icons
3 Buttons
3 Faders/Flashers

For the pure greatness that is Erve, the auction is starting at 5k (5,ooo neopoints) with a minimum of 1k increase!

FYI, the avatar isn't currently showing up because of a temporary connection problem with that server.

Love the sig, Ian!

I get a kick out of these guys who think they're so clean, when all the time they're trying to cover up their dirt.

Yeah, I found that out too late. I had the signature downloaded on my computer, so I uploaded that to my Walagata account. Unfortunately, I used 250free's transloaded for the avatar, so I didn't have that one on my computer and I couldn't remember what the website was that I got it from. XD

Really nice sig line, Ian.

I just love that scene.  Superb work by Selby.  Captivating....in my humble opinion.

Yeah, I remember once when I was surfing Collinwood.net...the webmaster there puts up classic quotes. When I decided to have a Quentin set, I knew that was perfect for it, though something along the lines of "I'm going to be killed by a woman!? I wouldn't have it any other way!" came a close second. ;)

Ye Gods, what kind of fan am I?  I don't remember that scene with the "my own innocence" line.

Any hints as to where I would find it in my MPI tapes?

Thanks,

Steve
