Angelique's Ghost

I wonder if Barnabas did the right thing by killing Angelique? She seems worse now that she's a ghost.  When she was alive, she seemed to have some concious,(well, alittle) but now she's a pure terror!   Perhaps he should have found another way to deal with her.
