Most Talented, Least Talented

     I loved Louis Edmonds performances.  Thayer David could play the intelligent, cultured Prof. Stokes to uneducated Ben Stokes.  Every actor in the main cast had stellar moments.  The chemistry between some of the actors was powerful enough at times to keep some of the implausible plots and ridiculous dialog from distracting from the performance.
     I thinka fewbad actors ruined some of the overall tone of the show.  Sharon Smythe was terrible in the role of Sarah Collins.  The actor MB mentioned who played Sky Rumson, I had completely blocked out of my mind.(Someone actually hired him again?)  Addison Powell was way too hammy but I have seen him in other films and he wasn't so bad.  The first actor that played Willy Loomis(Low-mass) would have destroyed the role.  Thank goodness he was replaced by John Karlin.

Most talented are JF - despite the teleprompter reading, he had a wonderful range from pure evil to wounded lover.  Plus, he moved with such grace and had a wonderful voice that I still ache for him!  Louis Edmonds played the rich, clueless snob to the hilt but I always felt his very best scenes were as Joshua Collins confronting his son Barnabas about his curse.  Thayer David could do anything and everything.  He was always perfection.  As for the ladies, I always loved Grayson because her characters had much more range.  From the pining doc to the spirited gypsy to the repressed housekeeper, she was never boring.  Also loved Nancy Barrett's work.  Really, all the actors with theatre backgrounds just brought so much more to the small screen. Nobody made me as nervous as John Karlen did!  Boy, he could twitch and sweat!  Humbert Allen Astredo was slickly evil. Jerry Lacy was perfect as Tony Peterson and all the Trasks.  David Henesy was marvelous as was Denise Nickerson.  They more than held their own against the adults.  I was sorry when Amy Jennings was written out of the show and replaced by Kathy Cody.

Least talented - Kathy Cody was irritating.  Sharon Smythe was as wooden as a popsicle stick.  Peter Turgeon as the third Dr. Woodard deserved what he got .  Roger Davis was fine as Peter Bradford but horrible as Jeff Clark, Ned, Dirk, etc.  Sorry, girls, but I wasn't that thrilled with Don Briscoe (although I loved his vamp scenes with Julia).  Craig Slocum - he truly sucked!  Lisa Richards was dull and Chris Pennock always seemed unsure of himself.  Addison Powell ugh!

Denise Nickerson and David Henesey were great actors for their age. I do agree that Sharon Smyth wasn't as good. I wonder what it would've been like had Denise played Sarah....

I never cared for Geoffrey Scott as Sky Rumson. I can't buy Angelique wanting a guy like that, he was so wooden!

I think every actor on the show with the exception of Mr. Scott were all talented (yes even Roger Davis I think had more acting range on there then Scott), they all worked so well with one another.
