Angelique has an encounter with Daniel. As loony as Daniel can be at times, he does recognize her as the woman that he knew when he was a boy. She quickly does damage control and threatens him with the ghost of his late wife. Harriet makes a brief appearance and looks a bit like Laura in the Johnny Depp movie.
Family reunion time at the old house! Angelique, now calling herself Valerie, drops in unannounced and surprises Barnabas and Julia. It's a good scene but one that I found frustrating. This is definitely not Angelique Rumson, who had mellowed with time and had a much better relationship with Barnabas and Julia. This Angelique is a lot nastier than the character had been depicted in some time. Lara does a good job but the character is more of a cliche villain here. Barnabas reacts to her as he would an enemy, which is a little odd but in character. But Angelique and Julia had become quite friendly, so her reaction seems more out of character.
Barnabas sends Julia to Bedford to investigate the 1692 back story. It doesn't matter to him that it's late at night and anyplace that keeps records is unlikely to be open. He wants answers and he wants them now! Fortunately, Julia gets them. Apparently, Judah was a big deal back then, doing whatever warlocks do. He was brought to trial but it looked like he was going to get away with it, until one of his followers testified and explained what needed to be done. The woman's name was Miranda.
There's a brief discussion as to why Daphne never mentioned anything to them about a witchcraft trial or a severed head in 1970. So, why didn't she?
Leticia is under the spell of the head and seems more adept at handling the situation than Desmond was. The body is relatively docile with her and the head is communicating with her. She manages to lure Julia to yet another crypt where it seems that Julia will be expected to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
