Twin Peaks: Damn, It's Not Fine
Lifelong fan Michael Ausiello reviews the premiere of Showtime's much-anticipated revival — and calls it a colossal disappointment

The 'author' of this article can suck it... 'Scuse my French.

His IS definitely the worst review I've read (which seem to run the gamut from lukewarm praise to raves). Normally I agree with his opinions, but I haven't seen any of TP yet, so I have no opinion at the moment...

Bottom line MB, is if you've ONLY seen the old show, and nothing else Lynch has done; those people definitely won't like this new version... It's really much closer to Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive than it is to the 90's TP show.

Very slow, inexplicable and surreal most of the time so far, but this is an 18hr Lynch-fest that is just getting started. I am very intrigued as to where it's going to go. The path is slowly forming.

One comment I saw said that he has created his own new (wholly other) version of "quirkiness" for 2017.

I LOVE Mulholland Drive!! And I love showing it to people just to see how much of it they can figure out!!  [b003]

If the new TP is anything like MD, I'll be hooked...

Ah yes! The blue key is the key!!  [easter_wink]

That one is my favorite Lynch, and the only one that really holds up to repeated viewings (IMO)... Recently introduced an uninitiated friend to the trifecta of Blue Velvet, LH & MD. And for her MD was the most intriguing and fun to (attempt to) decipher. Of my Lynchian friends, they are divided on Inland Empire, and I haven't had the courage to tackle that one just yet...  Have you MB?

No. But I really like many of the actors who are in it, so it's definitely on my to buy/watch list...

Here's a question you may be able to answer: Has the 197 minute version ever come out on DVD or Blu-ray in the US? All I'm ever able to find on DVD is the 180 minute version...
