CHANGING DS HISTORY
« on: March 27, 2002, 07:43:48 AM »
If like Victoria Winters , you traveled back in time and could change the course of events.  Into which of the storylines would you like to be transported(1795, 1897, 1970PT, 1840, 1840PT). Also, once there  how would you proceed to change DS history? For instance, Vicky tried to prevent Sarah Collins death by telling Naomi.  Which DS character's future would you try to change and how?
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

Dear Vam, If I could go back in time, I would love to travel to the year 1795, just like Vicky has. Once there however, I definetely wouldn't make the same mistakes that Vicky did. ::) First of all, upon arriving and seeing right away that things just don't look the same as they did before, I'd try my best to fit right in. I would state that I had been in an accident and couldn't remember a thing about myself or my past. I know Vicky tried to do this, but unfortunately, it was alittle too late when she did. I definetely wouldn't go around telling everyone what was to be their fate and who was to marry who and so on. Once I got to know the members of the household alittle better, I would pick someone whom I could trust to confide in to help me. I think the Countess would be my best bet. She seemed like a strong, independant woman who was open minded enough to accept anything regarding the occult. I would try to befriend her first of course. If I felt I could trust her enough, then I would tell her the truth about myself and warn her about what was to be, hopefully, she'd believe me and wouldn't think me crazy or "bewitched" I think Vicky's problem was also that she was alittle too defensive with everyone, especially those who questioned her. As much as I couldn't stand Trask, I'd make sure I put on the act of my life, like Angelique did, I mean if she can get away with it, why not Vicky? I'd wear a cross around my neck and made sure eveyone saw me saying my prayers. I'd take in consideration the time period I was in now, and knowing how they felt about witchcraft, I would do I could to make myself look "good" in everyone's eyes. Unfortunately, Vicky didn't know who the real witch was until much later, so she couldn't help much with that. Maybe things aren't meant to be changed after all and no matter what anyone does to try to change things, in the end, fate & destiny are still the same. Well, thats my story. ;)

I'd go back to the *present* time storyline and take Julia to Paris for a new wardrobe and less makeup and introduce her to 'other' men. . .

Your post with the silly pimp made me visualize Julia as Madame of the House on the Hill, Angelique as one of her best girls :-* , Maggie and Carolyn as the sweet young tarts with Willie as the chauffeur! I feel there might be a fan fiction story here with the usual cast of characters as visiting "johns".

Oh Carol!!!  What a hoot!  I love it!  [lghy]

Reverend Trask would be the Pious Hypocrite who railed against the place by day, but entertained  himself penniless there by night! [vryangy]

Roger would be a regular, but spend more on his bar bill than his pleasure. [lick]

Barnabas would never set foot in the place, but would speak to Maggie on the street, planning ways to "save her" from such a life.   :-[

Quentin, that charming southern rascal would be all the girls "favorite" customer.  ;)

Come on guys, help me out here...we still need a bouncer and somebody to play the piano!!  :D

If I could go back in time, I would wanna go back and be a BVD {Blue Velvet Dress}! :o

---

truthfully, I would like to go back and be an employee of a Woolworth's around Xmas in 1964 - and load up a shopping cart of goodies and bring them back with me.  :P

I wrote a story a loooong time ago for our mag [hey! that never got published - this was long before the fanfic feenom began! and even before 'Forrest Hump'] about a Beatlefan in a Time Machine who went back and inadvertantly 'caused' some of the key events in the Fabs story, like making Paul miss a birthday party to go to the fete where he met John; giving Pete a cold so Ringo could 'sit in' the first time; bumping Ed Sullivan off the earlier flight he shoulda been on, that caused him to see Beatlemania at the airport upon his arrival, and so forth....   I wrote most of the story for the laughs.  The story employed the standard sci-fi time-travel premise that 'nothing historical could be intentionally changed or ya can't go back'.  But the last paragraph had the character stepping in front of the jerk-of-all-jerka$$ (whose name is not spoken) as he fired on Dec. 8th.  The last line of the story was:  'John turned to Yoko and said "What the **** was that?" .... and they went inside' :'(

Get Sandor as the bouncer and Gerard Stiles to play the piano!

Maybe Pansey Faye can be part of the act...Come to think of it Garth Blackwood would make a great bouncer!

RP!!!! Brilliant! ---  that sure flowed quickly and easily - a past life regression of your own?! 8)

The so-called-rev [SCR] line was particularly inspired! ;D

if ya don't mind some overlapping [pardon the pun] storylines......
Adam could be the bouncer, and Petofi on the keys!  with Bruno as the 'neutral' errand boy! ;)

I'd travel back to 1897 and try and bring Magda back to the present so we could form our own Psychic Network.

If I could make a DS change, I think that I would have spared the life of vampire Tom, which would have resulted in the death and rising of Julia Hoffman. Vampire Julia would then have her choice between fellow vampire Tom and human Barnabas. If she had chosen Barnabas, she would eventually have to fight vampire Angelique for him. I would love to have seen that cat, (oops, pardon me) vampire fight. ;)

Oh my gawd....praise from Ringo Collins is High Praise indeed!!  :-[  ;)

No, sorry, no previous life as a doxie...just too many trashy novels in the adolescence of this one. [lghy]

I'd travel to the future (from 1967/68 to 1995), do some research into what becomes a stockmarket monster (like Microsoft), return back to 67/68, and start investing.  Oh, was I suppose to do the time travel thing to prevent some tragedy from happening, and not for cleaning up?  Oh, well - I'll leave that to Barnabas and Julia.

I'm posting my own post to ignite some excitement from the Julia and Josette fans. I would like to go back to 1840 just to empty Lamar Trask's pistol barrel before he shot Angelique. It would give Barnabas the opportunity to put on a heroic fist fight in which he would be victorious in full view of Angelique.  Just curious as to what the feelings between Angelique and Barnabas would be once Barnabas expressed his love for her. ;)

I like this idea. I always thought they should have ended the 1840 story line without killing Angelique, and having Barnabas decide to stay in 1840 with her so they could live out their natural lives together.

Personally I wouldn't care to go back any earlier in time prior to the invention of indoor plumbing and facilities! Not unless my trip through time only lasted a few hours!

OK, here's a thought. Go back to 1794, or whenever it was that Barney actually bedded Angie and thought he didn't have a chance with Josette. And...kill Josette. Barney ends up with Angie, she is happy with his love and the Collins family is boring for centuries to come.

Oh wait, Angie would be insanely jealous, no matter if he loved her or not. Oh well, scratch that one.

Burning Angie at the stake the moment she arrived in Collinsport, might have actually succeeded in keeping the Collins a dull lot.

I have never been a soap fan other than DS, it continues to amaze me how I long for things to happen that would absolutely ruin the show! The drama and horrific happenings are what make the ratings and yet we root for good things to make us yawn.
