Thirteen Days of Thayer David

Fans,

The Thayer David Fan Club site on Facebook is launching a "Thirteen Days of Thayer David" tribute tomorrow, Oct. 17.  The finale will be "A Dark Shadows Halloween" on Oct.31.  The tribute is billed as featuring "super-rare photographs, quotes and memories, exclusive to this site."

The URL for the fan club homepage:

https://www.facebook.com/The-Thayer-David-Fan-Club-199146836797222/

You might be able to see the posts without an account, but I am not sure about this.

It has been really nice to see some attention given to Thayer, finally.  A family member (Thayer's nephew, I believe) is involved.

G.

Yes, I've been eagerly anticipating this. I'm hoping for interview transcripts.

My favorite entry thus far was a comment from Matt Hall that Thayer rented a separate apartment (in addition to his residence) in NYC just for his books.  I imagine he kept quite a few antiques in there, too.

There was an interesting note about the pocket watch Prof. Stokes carried; if I recall correctly, it was a gift to Thayer from a family member when he was very young.

Wow Gothick, I've never really heard anyone speak about Thayer David!!

If the 2nd apt. (for books) is true:

a) uh, how many (and, did he have a leaning towards certain genres, including non-fiction)?
b) TWO APTS IN NYC$$$$$???!!!

Thanks for the info my dear.

Fascinating! And I'm just getting to the part where he was friends with Tennessee Williams!
