Regarding Robservations

Alright, we all know what 'binge watching' is.

Well, sometimes, I 'binge READ' Robservations.

It's ALWAYS bothered me, that if I know I read through ep 890, therefore, I'd next want t read ep#891, why, if I"m in Robservations, can't I just put in ep#891 (I'm trying to type it how it reads on the board).

Is there a way?

It's sooooooo arduous; if I were to go on Robservations, I can't tell go to page 16, nope, that's eps 210-approx 260. So, try page 22, nope that's eps 1102-1122, etc, etc.

Any suggestions for fluidity?

Use the MAIN search engine located in the Forums toolbar (below the header). Click on 'Search'. Click on 'advanced search'. Type in the ep number in the 'Search For' field. Uncheck/click on 'check all'. Click on 'Choose a board to search in, or search all'. Check/click on 'Robservations' (which is listed under 'Robin V's Crypt'). Click on 'Search', bottom right of page.

the 'Search' engine/field within the Robservations page you are already on only works for that Robsevations page. And don't forget the numbering system is a little kooky - I am not sure if skipped numbers from preemptions are included or not. I'm sure MB (or someone else) will chime in on that if I am wrong, as he moderates this particular board.

Most (though not all) of the Robservations are in order, so using the "previous/next" options at the top right (above PRINT) will often take you to the next pair of eps.  Robservations for #890 and #891 are on the same page, and clicking previous will take you to #892 and #893, clicking previous for those will take you to #894/5 and #896, and on and on.  And yes, we do realize that the previous/next buttons have always been misnomers. 

If the previous/next links do not take you to the following/prior eps, the Search feature will be your only option.

Midnite, honey, YOU of all people know I know how to use advanced search mode.

Unclicked every board save Robservations, tried (in search box) #eps980. No, so I changed it to just Episode 980. Still no.

So, After spending some time, I got to ep 984-985 (which was close enough).

Read that, and did the 'next' at top.

Well, hey, that got me to ep 980.

Figured maybe it's previous, got me to 978, again, prev., 976.

Tried next two more times.

Please go to eps 980/81, "Exit the Bride", and try doing the next and previous.
If it works for me, can you 'screen grab it' for me to visually see?

Unclicked every board save Robservations, tried (in search box) #eps980. No, so I changed it to just Episode 980. Still no.

Search / Advanced Search / Search: 980; Uncheck: Check All; Select: Choose a board to search in, or search all / Check: Robservations / Search

It came up for me.  As dom said, type the episode number in the search field.  The words Episode or eps are not in the Robservation titles.  Even #980 will not work because this summary is numbered as 0980. 

Please go to eps 980/81, "Exit the Bride", and try doing the next and previous.

#0980/0981: Robservations 06/13/03: Farewell, Leviathans, Hello, 1970PT! is one of those I mentioned that is out of order, and previous and next will not get you to either.  With #0984/0985: Robservations 06/17/03: Exit the Bride!, previous will get you to adjacent eps but next will not.

So, if I'm reading ep 985, hit next, and for whatever reason, I do an advanced search:
unclick all
click only Robservations
put ep number in........              986
and it'll take me to episode 986, yes?

Wait, now; when I do an advanced search, first I uncheck all, then check which section it would be on.
and do I literally type Search: 980?

Yes.  Other topics may come up as search results, but you're looking for the one that has the episode # you want in the title.

The 'previous' button was working.

But a couple of weeks ago, and now again tonight, when I hit previous, it takes me to the notice that now all Robservations are on CDs.

I tried previous after that (I had been on eps 990-91) and then at like 30...
