What branch of the Collins Tree?
« on: March 20, 2002, 03:52:34 PM »
May I ask one of the resident scholars a question?

Is it ever explained in the show exactly who the modern-day Collins' are descended from?

Jerimiah's dead, Barnabas is headed for the crypt for a long rest, and we know little Sarah is going to die while she's still little.

Millicent's kids wouldn't be called Collins, and Abigail....well, we won't even go there.

So unless Joshua and Naomi start all over again (egad!)....what part of the family tree are Liz and Roger et all hanging on?  Was it ever explained?

After Joshua, Daniel (Millicent's little brother) becomes the heir.  Daniel's son, Gabriel (married to Edith) becomes the next heir, followed by one of Gabriel's unnamed kids, who is the parent of Judith, Edward, Quentin and Carl.  Edward's son, Jamison, becomes the next heir.  He is the father of Elizabeth and Roger.  All the rest of us here got cut out of the will.

Why, yes, yes it is.

Millicent's little brother, Daniel, who we have yet to see, is Liz, Roger, et al's ancestor.  After the end of 1795, Joshua adopts Daniel.

It goes like this (cutting off extraneous branches)

Daniel
m.
Harriet ?
|
Gabriel
m.
Edith ?
|
?
m.
?
|
Edward
m.
Laura
|
Jamison
m.
?
|____________
|                        |
Elizabeth          Roger

Hope that helps,

It's also a little know fact that there was some controversy regarding the reading of Jeremiah's will after Barnabas blew his face off and Angelique plucked him from the grave, all bandaged up, stalking everyone, looking like something from a Universal Studio's 1940's movie chasing after Evelyn Ankers.  It seems he left a little something to everyone in the family save poor Millicent, with a little dig in the will that said "for reasons well known to her".  She decided to get even by writing an expose claiming that Jeremiah was not the nice guy everyone thought he was.  She called it "Mummy Dearest".

Hey!  Whaddya want!  Ray Romano?
