i'm with Connie all Selby Scenes are
fine with me!!

Mm hmm.....yep.  LOL
Plus, for all love scenes we need an instant replay and then a slow motion, in-depth analysis!   ;D

Darren,
Thank you for all the technical info.  How's the quality of the b&w footage?  Last year at the Fest they showed the Flatboatman.  The quality wasn't so good -- it was like old 50's TV show footage, as opposed to say, the good quality of I Love Lucy shows.  Do you know what I mean?

I'm with everybody else. I want to see anything you have. While I think I'm especially interested in the seance and scenes involving the discovery of Charles' remains, I'd sit through John Karlen combing his hair outtakes. Actually, if you find any more bloody fights with Gerard, include them. I remember one trip to Lyndhurst running around until I found the railroad overpass footbridge where the big fight was.
There was always a sense of irony about the second film for me as since my parents found the first film way too graphic for my 11 years, that I wasn't allowed to see "Night of Dark Shadows" at the theatre. I didn't see it until CBS late night movies one summer a few years later. I wonder how many other kids had that experience. By the way, I wasn't allowed to see "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" the same reason. Both were "GP" then.

The B & W footage looks excellent, especially on the master tape. The presentation tape will a few analog generations down to a VHS, but it should look fine.

I just spoke with Renee' and broke the bad news to her that I won't be able to attend this year.  Due to some unexpected medical bills y'all are going to have to carry on without me.  :'(

Always, Minja

I'm sorry that you won't be able to attend the Fest this year, Minja. :'( I didn't get around to saying this to you last Saturday night in the chat, so I thought I would answer your post.  Hope to chat with you next Saturday night. ;)

Okay, folks. I've confirmed the day information and I'll be doing my restoration presentation on Saturday afternoon and it will be just before the cast reunion. The first 2/3 will be a plethora of clips from 'lost' scenes followed by a moderated Q & A panel with a few NODS actors attending the fest (actual participants will depend on who is available at that moment) for a NODS specific chat...Should be great fun. ;D

This time I'm there for the weekend, so those attempting to rope me into drinks at the bar will be much luckier than in LA a few years ago... ;)

Thanks for this excellent news, Darren!  I am also supposed to be at the Festival, although I will have to leave right after lunch on Sunday.  I'm glad your NoDS presentation is being scheduled on Saturday!
