Very sad news, indeed.

My condolences to the Hall family.  Mr. Hall was a true wordsmith and, along with his wife, Grayson Hall, contributed tremendously to Dark Shadows' phenomenal success.

Matt Hall has posted a longer, more intimate eulogy of his late Father. It's one of the best pieces of writing I have ever read about anyone involved in 20th century theatre and television.  DS isn't mentioned, however.
