Joan Bennett resource page!
« on: January 08, 2004, 05:34:03 PM »
As promised, here's the URL for the site I've created to find resources on Joan Bennett.

I'm still tweaking things slightly and it's not the most glamorous looking site (going for a "no graphics! all of the time! feel at the moment), but for the interested parties . . .

Well done, Luciaphil!!  Congratulations on getting the site up.

Don't apologize for the "bare bones" look of it.  A site meant to provide resources for further research should be as simple to navigate as possible.  Give us information over graphics every time!! [wink2]

Will a site for E.F. Benson be next?   [cheesyb]

Excellent work, dear!  I look forward to having a good look at it one of these days.  Nice to have the scan up of the one article.

Congrats, Steve

Great site!  I enjoyed the reviews of "Suspiria" which I saw for the first time a couple weeks ago. Keep up the good work!

That's wonderful, Luciaphil!!  Congratulations on the success of all the work you must have put into it.  I partiuclarly liked your including the "search tips" - more sites should do that.

Thank you for the nice comments :) I hope to add more to it as time goes by. If any of you should have suggestions of sites or articles to add, please feel free to contact me with them!

And who knows, Rainey, I may do a Benson site yet. If I could get a friend's permission, I also have a whole slew of photos of Rye (the model for Tilling) with the various houses and shops  8)

Bare bones as you said, but a great job.
See if you can get it linked up to other DS sites, like collinwood.net and darkshadowsonline.com

Joan was a huge movie star in her day, but, except for DS, is largely forgotten. She should not be, and this site can be used to remind classic film fans about her.

Only a small handful of her films are shown with any regularity these days, but the better known films can be used, along with DS, to get people to visit your site.

Suspiria is a film whose director, Dario Argento, has a huge following, the film`s two disc special edition box set sold out and is now an overpriced collector`s item. It`s a great film, Joan`s last theatrical release, and can be used to interest more people in your important site.
