Disabled "Go" Button
« on: September 10, 2003, 04:32:39 AM »
The "Go" button down at "Jump To" is completely dead.  "Back" or clicking the forum title at the top work just fine, but nothing happens with "Go."

I think I increased some of my security settings, but I don't see any connection with that, especially since the other links work.  It's still not working tonight.

Actually, the Jump To menu isn't like most of the other links on the forum - it's a form that's run with a Java script. If any of the security settings that you increased changed your browser's Java settings, that could have done it.

Hmmm!  I forget where I found the information, but there was something a few days ago about fixing security settings in light of all the recent "invasions."  It gave specific settings to use and one was to disable java in IE.  That surprised me, because a lot of sites have things that need java, but I tried it.  So, that's probably the reason.

Any opinion as to whether I should leave it disabled, or if it doesn't matter and I might as well re-enable it?

You're right -  I was downloading and installing anti-virus tonight and at one point it said I had to enable the scripts, so "Go" is back!!
