incidentally before miss james was ultimately cast bella heathcote was in serious consideration for the role of 'Cinderella'.

I believe it was down to james, heathcote and one other actress(whose name I forget)before james was selected.

my only exposure to lily james is the new and very annoying lady rose on 'downton abbey'.
sleep 'til noon and your punishment shall be the dregs of the coffeepot.

Interestingly enough, Bella was listed as Cinderella on IMDB before the official announcement, much like Depp Shadows had Victoria (incorrectly) cast before the announcement.

Unfortunately, we know only too well how unreliable IMDb can be. Who can also forget how they had Christopher Lee playing Bill Malloy in the Depp/DS film?  [ghost_rolleyes]

I hadn't heard about Bella Heathcote possibly being cast. It's too bad she didn't get the role - particularly now because it would have been interesting to see her interacting with Helena Bonham Carter in a completely different way than Vicki and Julia's relationship.
