But the nail in the coffin of the show was when former Beatle John Lennon's wife [instructed by her numerologist] had John buy her way onto the show, with similar payola techniques as U2.  Adding her name to the show apparently was too avant garde.

Wait!  I think there were a couple of other short-lived revival attempts.  A politician with high aspirations was thinking of running for office and bribed his way into the line-up.  Also, I heard that a feeble attempt at correcting the Yoko Ono fiasco was made, but it didn't help.  I think the final outcome was:

Boy did this topic ever stray all over the place!  I love it.

It's sleeting here on Long Island right now.

I had a temperature of 104.7 the other night.  Hubby tried to force me to go to the hospital, but I refused.  I told him I would WILL it down!  An hour later it was 104.5, so I wasn't lying!  He put me into a lukewarm bathtub, where I thrashed like a whale and screamed at him.  I think my brain got a little fried, but so what?

I didn't hear one of my closest friends BRAG about having A/C on at her home, did I?     I didn't think so!  Just remember, Midnite, I'm coming out your way in May.  Be very, very nice!

Oh, Jennifer, if only there were direct flights between Logan and Islip/MacArthur, you and I would be meeting on a regular basis. 

I would LOVE to be able to fly directly to Boston!!

LA's not so great....I was there once.  Rained every day.  And I didn't see ONE beach that could hold a candle to the beaches on Fire Island!

I DID feel like hell, but when you're that sick, a lot of it seems to be happening to someone else--probably a blessing.  I'm feeling much better today, just a bit guilty about taking four sick days off from work--but hell, I've accumulated 1,400 hours, why not use them when you're entitled to?

I've been watching DS "live" these past few days--and of course, in the Barnabasless times!  Drats!

Your viewing situation reminds me of the first time I got a chance to see DS on TV since the original airing. I was visiting my brother in Jersey and happened to catch like the last fifteen minutes of an episode and it happened to be of GB chasing Aristede through the woods. I was so hoping to see Barn, Julia, Liz or almost anybody else (since it had been ages since I'd seen the show). It was a big let-down for me - although it still was cool to finally see the show again.

I don't mind your asking, Dom--I've been sick, nasty flu-like thing.  Why I got a flu shot, I'll never know.   I thought I was gonna die--or perhaps just felt like I was.  This is the first day I've felt truly human--and the first day with a normal temperature since Monday!

Whew, Robin! Glad to hear that you're better!  Sounds like you really had it bad.  And it's unsurprising that you had the flu shot this year.  I've never been sicker than the winter I got that darn shot!  I'm pretty sure it caused my thyroiditis!
