Karma/Applaud/Smite Qs

When I seem MY profile...it lists 'karma'.
Is this the same thing as when I see someone else's applaud/smite (like, if my karma is +5 -1, does that mean 5 people have clicked applaud and one has clicked smite?)

Also, are were no longer limited to 1 transaction per 24 hours? (I thought there was a limit, but maybe it's just my brain that's limited).

Yep...

I believe that you can only smite or applaud EACH person once per day...not just ONE person per day.  I imagine that's to prevent serious ganging-up on each other.

I'm pretty sure we can't.  Probably a good idea.  Imagine the vendettas?!!

By the way, Patty....don't tell MB you have no firewall....he'll shriek at you.  I know because he shrieked at me.  Check out the Zone Alarm firewall he reccomended under "Problems Accessing the New Board" in Testing 1,2,3, second page.    We installed it and have had no problems with it.

Yes, you understand the karma thang completely. We can't applaud or smite ourselves, therefore we don't see either of those options below our own karma ratings.

You can applaud or smite as many individual members as you'd like once in a 24 hour period.

No. There is no way to know who smites or applauds. If we could, it wouldn't be karma - it would be war! . LOL.

I wish I had the snowfall everyone else around the country has received. But I am a stay at home hubby, I'd feel different if I knew that my hubs (or I) had to make the long daily commute on the icey and snowy roadways.

So, (and keeping in mind the thread that's on current talk re: smites/applaud),,,now I see cure and curse...

Is cure=I love you, you're the best?

Is curse=I hate you, you're the worst?

NOBODY ON THIS BOARD SHOULD BE CURSED.

And I don't think anyone should have to be 'cured'..no one is sick; nor, I hope, is anyone a side of ham

What you'd be clicking on would be [cure] and [curse], but you'd have to be at a higher posting level before they'd be available to you in other members' posts.
