Are there no Holidays in that town?
I don't recall the set ever being decked out for XMAS or any other day of festivities for that matter.
PEACE TO ALL!!!!

Never.

Holidays at Collinwood would have required 2 things from Mr. Curtis that he took great pains to avoid: the expenditure of money, and the paying of attention to continuity in the scripts. The first was anathama, the second an annoyance...thus Collinsport existed in it's own permanent Parallel Time. ::)

Elizabeth once mentioned doing some early Christmas shopping and that's about as close as they ever got to having a holiday in Collinsport. Realistically, however, you'd have to admit it's Halloween there 365 days a year.

You could say that the Collins family live a year round Halloween, although a Collinwood Halloween has nothing to do with "Treats" just "Tricks"
its all in the game as David and Amy would say... :-)

Raineypark, thanks for the explanation. This was a question in the back of my mind for years. I also don't remember the Collins' throwing a party (birthday or otherwise) at any time. No weddings that I can remember (except Vicki's) , graduations, or other reasons to celebrate. Of course there were an abundance of funerals!

No, but I have a lovely picture in my mind of what both the Old House and Big House would look like with fresh evergreens, etc. in and around the rooms...
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

And when they do finally show a wedding, it's usually diasterous like what happened at Angelique & Barnabas' wedding or Liz & Jason's, (if you could even call them weddings)

During the first year, there are seasonal changes.  I remember one episode with Roger wearing ordinary clothes and bringing in wood for the fire.

When Laura first appears in December 1966, Maggie asks her if she is in town for the holidays.  A few episodes before Joe tells Burke to take him off his Christmas list.

In 1897, there are references by Edward about someone sending him Christmas cards the prior holiday season.

During the beginning of Leviathan, Julia asks Carolyn if she is doing some early Christmas shopping.
