Both Quentin Collins and Gerard Stiles first arrive on the present day scene as ghosts. Which one proves more sinister/frightening and why?

I found Quentin's haunting of Collinwood the most frightening.  The atmosphere was very creepy.  Mrs Johnson conveys a feeling of forboding.  Spoiler                                                                                The telephone aspect was especially spooky.

Hi onyx_treasure! I haven't seen the Quentin storyline yet--will be watching it for the first time. I like a good ghost story.  :o

SPOILER

In 1968 I was 4 years old. As a child, I thought Quentin was more scary because of what he did to David Collins. I also recall something like, Quentin being in a picture, and he came out of it. That was scary.

I feel Gerard Stiles was the most sinister as well as frightening,  his scowling features always meant he was in a rather nasty mood... also when he smiled it seemed as though he was angry still...

Quentin's friendly smile was one that would put anyone at ease until he stopped smiling.

Thus this is my answer.... Gerard was the most evil, although this may have been because he was not actually Gerard.

They are both pretty gosh darn creepy. I'm going to go with Gerard though, because he never got any better.

Quentin may have been scarier to start with, but, fortunately for us he loses the vote because he went on to become a real character.

I agree with above.  Quentin was the best, but Gerard was the most evil and he was unredeemable as long as he was alive.

Where are they getting these bodies, Mulder,  are they making them?

Gerard looked creepier, but I think that Quentin was more menacing.  As Craig_Slocum mentioned, he was violent toward David and Amy, and he encouraged them to be violent in turn.  I don't recall Gerard persuading the children to kill their family members.

I agree!

Which ghost killed more often during their reigns of terror-- Gerard or Quentin?

Before B&J changed history, Gerard was responsible for the deaths of Daphne, David, Hallie, Elizabeth, Jeanne Flagler, Mrs. Johnson, and Carolyn.

Quentin killed Janet Findley and Ezra Braithwaite and tried to kill Chris Jennings and Roger.

Im going with Gerard. He just seemed so much more evil to me. Quentin was scary at first too, but I think the presence of Beth's ghost seemed to soften him a bit.
Gerard always had that evil grin and for the longest time we seemed to know nothing about him. While at least with Quentin, we knew alittle something about him and of course, that he was a Collins. Gerard's ghost was such a mystery for so long and I think that added to the scary aspect of it.[ghost]

SPOILER!

Gerard had that Elvis-like sneer that always creeped me ut.  He just looked so damned mean!  He did what he did for hate.  He was possessed by the spirit of Judah Zachary, a really bad dude, who possessed Gerard and made him to evil things.

Quentin actually was doing what he did because of someone he loved--Jamison.   He had the wrong way of showing it, and went about it cruelly, but he was twisted in a human way.  The way David and Amy communicated with him, via a disconnected telephone, was pretty damned frightening!

Love, Robin

Oh Quentin was THE ghost on DS.  You could tell the whole time he was haunting Collinwood that he himself was a very haunted soul.  Gerard was absolutely the more evil of the two, but Quentin the most effective.  Even his companion ghost added to the flavor....Beth was sad and poignant, Daphne, well, she was pretty insipid.

The whole set up to 1840 was a pale comparison.  The Quentin/Beth haunting was unparalleled.  And 1897 rules.
