"Cousins" who've made at least 50 posts on the forum will notice that there's a new category displaying below Why Register? - the Members' Gateway. This is your entrance into the Members' Archive.

The gateway has five links which will take you to the top of the archive, Original Runs Articles, Post Run Articles, Multimedia, and Chat Logs/Fest Q&A/Transcripts, respectively, where you will find such things as articles published while DS aired on ABC, articles published after DS left the airwaves of ABC, photos, scans, screen captures, video, sounds & fan art, and DS celebrity chat logs [including those from the now defunct Dark Shadows Online Forum on AOL (archived by former forum leaders AlaneSue and Mfmdpt)], transcripts of DS Festival Q&As, and transcripts of the DS stars radio and TV interviews.

At present we've barely scratched the surface of what the archive will eventually contain. But in the coming weeks, more and more stuff will be added as Midnite and I - and hopefully you - begin to share whatever you'd like to with the rest of your "cousins". [wink2]

Which leads me to explain another way to gain access:
If registered "cousins" who have yet to make 50 posts on the forum donate at least three things from their own DS collections, and if the three are accepted (meaning that whatever it is isn't already waiting in the wings to be posted), they can become a DSF Members' Archive Supporter. One such "cousin" is WidowsHill, who has already generously made 29 donations from her DS collection - with promises of more to come.
Thanks so much, WH! [hello]

So, take your time browsing through what has already been uploaded. And please feel free to post any comments that you might have about what you find. Each category contains its own comments board for that purpose.

Enjoy!

Midnite & MB

(NOTE to AOLers, Compuservers & MSNers: in order for you to access the archive, you must start Microsoft Internet Explorer separately from AOL, CS or MSN. Simple instructions will come up if you try to access the archive using IE within AOL, CS or MSN. :))

Hi:) What exactly are you archiving? Printed or original stories? Uploaded scans from DS collectibles?

All sorts of things are likely to show up in the Members' Archive: DS articles, event photos, screen captures, promotional materials, video, art work, etc. And the good news is that it will return sooner rather than later - hopefully fairly soon after we upgrade to SMF 1.1.

OK-I'm confused--(a not unusual state of affairs) I've got over 50 posts, but I'm not seeing anything called "Members Gateway"--is this something which is going to happen in the near future, or has happened but I just need to clean my glasses to find it? ;)

Sorry for your confusion, rainingwolf.  It's not up right now, but as MB said, it will return after the next upgrade.  Then, with your 150+ posts, you will be able to see it while you're logged in.  Hope that helped.  :)

Somehow or other I've missed out on the Members' Archive ... completely forgot about it. Now that I'm looking for some articles that have been mentioned in some older threads, I'm searching for the Members Archive and can't find it ... Can anyone help?

Thanks!
