i agree that the actually works best as a character study and often suffers when it becomes plot-driven.

but i still thought the proposal scene was clumsy.

even given the same scripts...which require vicki to extremely upset...i think alexandra's take would have seemed wistful,melancholy and not so shrill and hysterical.

I agree wtih mscbryk that Alexandra wouldn't have portrayed Vicki as being quite so distraught and shrill once the Jeff/Peter storyline was nearing its conclusion. Of course Vicki's character would still have been deeply affected by the events that befall her during the last days with Jeff/Peter in the present. But I think with AM, she would have been more in quiet shock and denial, just as she had been when [spoiler] Burke's plane crashed in Brazil. [/spoiler]
