It seems to me that Maggie's bizarre insistence that David denounce and cast out Quentin owes more to the conclusion of "The Turn of the Screw" than to any logic in this particular narrative.

When I rewatched this ep for the WP, I realized that my comment for #693 that DS finished cribbing from the book was, um, premature.  [snow_embarrassed]

I wonder if DS 1897 will be ruined for me once I do become familiar with "The Turn of the Screw".   Or do I need to become familiar with "The Turn of the Screw", to realize less plagiarism is involved than I suspect, to revalidate DS 1897 for me?

Magnus, I enjoyed 1897 more after reading TOTS.

For me, the disappointment came when the plot got reused, since that time the themes taken from the novel are all but forgotten once 1840 plays out.
