Six Degrees of Dark Shadows

I had this idea a bit earlier today, and figured I'd post it on the Game boards.

This is a DS-themed variation of the party game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. For those unfamiliar with the game, the objective is to create a "chain" of links to a certain thing in as few links as possible, the maximum being six. For example:

John Linnell (1) is a member of the indie pop-rock group They Might Be Giants. He produced the group Common Rotation's album The Big Fear; actor/musician Adam Busch (2) is a member of Common Rotation. Adam Busch appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Sarah Michelle Gellar (3), who had starred on All My Children with Louis Edmonds (4).

Direct links, as seen above, are ideal, but stretches are fine, too:

Goo Goo Dolls member John Rzeznik (1) received inspiration for the title of the song Iris by flipping through a magazine and seeing the name of country/folk singer Iris DeMent (2). DeMent's song Our Town was played at the end of the last episode of the television series Northern Exposure. James Marsters (3) appeared in two episodes of Northern Exposure, and was also a regular on Buffy, where he worked with Sarah Michelle Gellar (4), who had worked with Louis Edmonds (5).

I apologize for using SMG to Louis Edmonds in both my examples, but anyway, feel free to post your own here. The only rules are to not exceed six links and not to do simple things like "Joan Bennett (1) worked on Dark Shadows." Sorry if this is a boring game.

Here's one!

Danny Thomas was the father of Marlo Thomas.

Marlo Thomas' boyfriend on That Girl was Ted Bessel.  (I think I spelled that right - is it one or two "l's?")

Ted Bessel was on the short-lived terrible sitcom Me and the Chimp where Kami Colter played his daughter.

Kami Colter went on to The Waltons where she played the daughter of Michael Learned (Livvy Walton - did I spell that right?).

In an episode of The Waltons, Livvy takes a college course where the professor, played by David Selby, falls for her.

David Selby played some minor character on Dark Shadows.

Forest Whitaker was a regular on the third season of THE SHIELD.

The star of THE SHIELD is Michael Chiklis. Chiklis has appeared in both of the FANTASTIC FOUR films with Julian McMahon.

Julian McMahon is one of the stars of NIP/TUCK. McMahon's character has adopted a son.

Georg Stanford Brown made several apperances on NIP/TUCK in the role of the biological father of McMahon's adopted son. Brown was once married to Tyne Daly.

Tyne Daly, Brown's ex-wife, was one of the stars of CAGNEY AND LACEY.

John Karlen portrayed Daly's husband on CAGNEY AND LACEY and we know him as Willie Loomis and other DS characters.

The legendary Grace Kelly portrayed Gary Cooper's wife in HIGH NOON.

Gary Cooper was in THE FOUNTAINHEAD with Patricia Neal.

Patricia Neal won an Oscar for HUD. The role of "Hud" was played by Paul Newman.

Newman was the star of SLAP SHOT. One of the supporting players was Michael Ontekean.

Ontekean appeared on THE ROOKIES and one of his co-stars was Kate Jackson.

Some remember Kate Jackson as one of CHARLIE'S ANGELS and some remember her as Daphne on DARK SHADOWS.

The great John Barrymore was a member of a legendary acting dynasty.

That dynasty included John's brother, Lionel. Lionel Barrymore was in CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS and AH, WILDERNESS!

Both CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS and AH, WILDERNESS! featured Mickey Rooney in supporting roles.

Mickey Rooney's co-star in several Andy Hardy and MGM musicals was Judy Garland. The legendary Judy Garland was one of the stars of A STAR IS BORN.

James Mason played Garland's husband in A STAR IS BORN. He was also in a film called JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH.

Thayer David also appeared in JTTCOTE, breaking our hearts when he ate Gertrude the duck for dinner. We could never imagine David doing that as Prof. Stokes on DS, but we are sure Matthew Morgan and Count Petofi would dine on duck.

Six Degrees not exactly my game ...but Soapdish intrigued me.Here are a couple.

1. In Soapdish, Kevin Kline played Dr. Rod Randall, who was brought back from the dead to stir things up on the show. Kevin also starred in A Fish Called Wanda with Jamie Lee Curtis.
2. Jamie starred in a made for tv movie Death of a Centerfold: The Dorothy Stratten Story about the playboy playmate.
3. In Death of a Centerfold, Hugh Heffner was played by Mitchell Ryan, who played the first Burke Devlin...or

1. In Soapdish, Sally Field played the lead Celeste. She also starred in Smokey and the Bandit.
2.In Smokey and the Bandit, Jerry Reed played bandits buddy Cledus, whose job it was to drive a rig of bootleg beer.
3.Jerry starred in a failed tv pilot called Concrete Cowboys...his co star was Geoffrey Scott, who played Leviathan businessman Sky Rumson.
